It is time! Are you ready? The Project 12 challenge for 2010 is officially here.
Do you need a refresher on the challenge? The challenge is simple. Scrap your month! What did you do in January 2010? The highlights for me were my daughter Morgan's 6th birthday and getting to fly to California for the Craft & Hobby Show (CHA) exhibition.
Whether you took one photo, 31 photos, or no photos, do one layout, and highlight your month. The very talented Becky Fleck has shared her creativity with us by providing sketches to help you along, but you are not required to use them. Any size or shape of project will suffice, as long as you are capturing time.
Becky offered a January sketch on THIS post. Below she has provided a second sketch for February. You can follow her monthly pattern and use a different sketch each time, you can use one sketch for the entire year, or you can use your own sketch.
(February 2010 sketch - due March 20th)
I can’t tell you how excited I am to work with Becky and her sketches!
This challenge is not about limiting your creativity. It’s about giving it wings. Fill up those albums with your life and create 12 layouts to capture the year. The layouts you do the rest of the year will be for fun.
Here’s the nitty gritty. You have until FEBRUARY 20 to link your January layout to THIS thread, AND my personal blog, www.davinie.blogspot.com if you want two chances to win two prizes.
Simply, there are two prizes and two chances to win. Link to this post, and link to my personal blog post. The same prize will be given at both places. If you would like to share your layout with us to add to a special Project 12 Facebook album, then please send your image to email@example.com and you will also be entered to win the monthly prize! Make sense?
Want to know what you are playing for? Each month one of our wonderful sponsors will be providing a fun prize pack to whet your creative appetite, and the first is a favorite of mine.
Studio Calico recently debuted as a manufacturer with a new line called Home Front. At the recent craft show in Anaheim, they had their first booth and released Anthology, another great mix of patterns and products. They have generously donated both collections for this first challenge. I have had the pleasure of working with both lines, and this is a prize you will not want to miss!
I look forward to playing along with you as well! I am very excited and will be using Becky’s sketches for my layouts. I will be back here with my layout for January on February 20th and the winner of the challenge on our next Project 12 post scheduled for February 27 (just remember to link your layout to this thread, to my blog or send us your image at firstname.lastname@example.org by February 20!)
And finally, when we launched Project 12 on this blog, Becky gave us an autographed copy of her bestselling book PageMaps to give away! This amazing book includes over 140 artwork examples AND laminated cards with each of the sketches on them – perfect when you need some inspiration. We asked you to spread the word about Project 12, and you sure did.
The winner of the autographed copy of PageMaps is:
