Happy Monday everyone! We thought we would take a little departure from our traditional Monday morning designer challenge to expand a bit more on an article written by Summer Fullerton that was featured in our summer issue (download it for free!) called “Big Story, Small Package”. It is often so hard to fit everything we want to share with you within the confines of a 4 page magazine article and since we have had so many readers ask for more images of Summer's beautiful mini albums, we asked Summer for more! Take it away Summer....
"First up is the mini album titled “Fresh Recipes”. This album was so fun to create and currently sits perched in my kitchen in a very special place. The recipes are all personal favorites of mine featuring fresh summer fruits and vegetables. I used a canvas album from Maya Road along with some fun Maya Mists! A little tip...the longer you let the misted canvas “cure” the less it will rub off on to your project.
A fabulous feature to this book is all the extra little "pockets" to put other recipies or notes in!
The second mini album I have to share with you today is titled “Mexico: Akumal”. I have hundreds of photos from our trip and I confess I have yet to sit down and actually scrapbook any of them. Creating this mini album was a great way for me to look back at our trip without feeling overwhelmed by masses of photos. I know I will eventually complete scrapbook pages from our trip but in the mean time my family has had a blast reliving our trip through this project.
Playing with a mixed media album like this one from Fancy Pants is a ton of fun. Each page is a new adventure allowing your creativity to sparkle from page to page. Although the pages are made from different materials I connected the album with similar design elements like wallet sized photos and a scalloped border.
Thank you for stopping by today. Please join me on Wednesday when I will share another special album with you along with other mini album options designed to inspire you to embrace the small package … also known as the mini album."
