Good morning everyone! We are so sorry that we were unable to release our February sketch on February 1st due to internet connection issues and thank you for joining us today! Did you know we have readers in over 25 different countries participating in Project 12? We would love to know where you are from so if you are participating in Project 12, tell us where you're from!
"It seems strange to say this on February first but…this is it! Bring it on! Project 12 challenge, 2011. At this point, you have finished your album for 2010, 12 layouts that tell the story of your life, or you are gearing up for a new challenge, and are at the gate, ready to depart. I am so honored and excited to share this journey!
December Sketch
To wrap up 2010, I wanted to quickly share my layout for the December sketch:
The sketch this month was intricate and detailed, so I had to break out some math skills to get it finished. I truly enjoyed the process and the finished product. I used the Traditions line from Fancy Pants for most of this layout. It was the perfect sketch to use a collection pack and coordinating patterns.
I like to trim white borders around my photos, so I printed every photo ¼ inch less on each side than the measurements give. It all worked out perfectly.
Before we move on to the January sketch, I wanted to share a quick cover page idea. We have been asked this question many times, as 2 page layouts leave a single beginning and ending page to your albums. Check out what Arlene shared as a title page for 2010:
A collage of prints was a great way to incorporate even more photos into your albums. Another idea might be a simple page about your goals for the year, or what you did on 1/1. If you have another idea to share, please send it to us at ideas@scrapbookandcards.com so that we can share it with everyone!
And these are the winners from those who participated with December layouts:
From my blog:

And from the SCT blog:
I love the stitching on your layout, Davinie! Thanks so much for providing this for us all!! I love my 10 layouts so far and am feeling much less overwhelmed by all that I feel I need to scrap :) Posted by: Karen | November 28, 2010 at 01:07 AM
Congratulations ladies! And do you remember we told you American Crafts had two beautiful albums and some adhesive for two lucky winners who participated all year? Well we put all of those names into a hat (we really did!) and drew the following two names....
Cynthia Baldwin and Brenda Johnston!
Congratulations ladies! Although we could only choose two winners, we were thrilled by YOUR excitement and participation in 2010. It was a great year and of course, a special thank you to Becky Fleck for her fabulous PageMaps each month. For even more PageMaps, be sure to visit www.pagemaps.com as Becky releases brand new sketches each and every month...for free!

So in love with the Fancy Pants "its the little things" line. This project has been a lot of fun for me to participate in throughout 2010 and I love my album. I will defiantly be participating for 2011 and I think I may have got my sister on board! You will have two scrappers from Canada's Capital participating!

Thank you so much! I am so excited! And thank you for providing the sketches and excitement to help us all get our lives documented. It was fun!

I think the women who finished their 2010 album deserve a great big "Bravo". I loved the idea of project 12 and started off truly motivated but by April, I couldn't keep up with taking the photos, let alone, scrapping them. That being, I do love the 4 layouts that I did accomplish and I'll try to complete a few this year, even though I know that I can't do them all. Thanks to all at SCT.

I'm new here, so I'm trying to understand the process. Is the Feb sketch used for your Jan photos or saved in anticipation of what pictures you will take in Feb?
Posted by: LisaSoares | February 05, 2011 at 11:41 AM
Lisa, thanks for asking that question. I, too, want to work on these layouts, so want to understand the guidelines better.
Can't wait to play. These layout sketches are AWESOME! I'm assuming it's too late to play along with the January sketch...

Hi ladies, we have given you the February sketch so you can think about your pictures as you take them during the month of February! The January sketch is to be used for your January photos and you have almost a whole month to work on it before you need to link (only if you want to though!).

I know this sounds ridiculous but can you PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE tell me what software you use to size and resize your photos? I am having a terrible time. Photoshop boggles my mind!! THANK YOU!!
Posted by: Kristine LeRoss | February 05, 2011 at 01:36 PM
Lori, the Jan. sketch isn't due until Feb. 28, so you've got plenty of time. Once it's done, go back and link it to the post on Jan. 1 where they first showed the sketch.
Kristine, I do use photoshop. Have you tried Picasa? It's free, and I know several scrappers who use it. I've never used it myself so I don't know what all it does...

I love Project 12! I did every month for 2010 and it's a great recap of our year. I will forever keep doing this so keep the sketches coming!

Love the Fancy Pants designed line of papers. They are so cute. Thanks for all of the inspiration. I'm from Maryland.

I love these sketches! I don't use them necessarily for the monthly photos since I don't take day-to-day photos. I use the sketches for trips or events. They are so versatile that way.

Congrats to all of you...winners and those of you finished the 2010 albums. I started out but just couldn't keep up. I'm going to try again and if illnesses keep at bay maybe I'll be able to stay on track. I live on the Oregon Coast.
I'm also not sure how to show a 2-page layout! All I can do is take a picture of each half!! IT just really doesn't show well!

I love the font you've used for the word December. would you mind sharing the name of it and where you found it. I've been seeing it around a bit lately.

Yay! I'm so happy to have won :) Not sure who I should contact though to claim my prize?!?!? ;)

For those asking about photographing 2 page layouts...I stand on a chair to take the picture. I usually go outside in the shade or put them just inside my front door (and open the door). This way, the lighting is coming from an angle and not behind my head with the indoor lighting. I do use Picasa to straighten and crop (adjust color if needed, too).
