Good morning! The weather would have you thinking different, but spring is here and I have to say I really liked March's sketch. I loved the design and how spring-like it looked. As a reminder, this is what Becky came up with for our March photos!
And this is my interpretation:
I stuck pretty close to the general design for the paper, although I did change the sizes of my photos a wee bit, because I really didn’t take a lot of photos this month, and what I did take were at the same events. Because of that I used the same journaling I used last month, an idea I got from ShellyJ, a regular Project 12 participant.
I was really inspired by the creative direction of many of the submissions this month and have a couple to share.
I really really really really love this layout from Agata. I am very inspired. I love the white background and the yellow stitching, and how she zig zagged on the right to mimic the sketch. I love that the journaling block is yellow to bring it all together.
I also love the mix of photos, the addition of the extra photo, the mix of black and white photos, and the use of the couch photo with the title. I can’t read the language, but I’m guessing she got a new couch in March which is one of the things I love most about Project 12. Where else can you document that sort of thing? Years down the road, memories will be tied to the sofa you were sitting on or the color of your carpet, so these are fun things to make sure you document.
One of my most favorite parts about this layout is the strip of flowers. BRILLIANT. I am absolutely going to do that in place of a border sticker or a border punch on a future layout. SO smart.
Another layout I loved came from Vanessa this month.
I really love the grid pattern here and the extra photos. Of course, I’m always partial to photos with white borders. I LOVE the tickets across the top. That’s a great border idea too! I’m wondering where she got those…. That isn’t by chance some sort of die cut, is it? If it isn’t, I think somebody needs to come out with a ticket die cut. ;) I also love that she included the clouds and kites as seen in the original sketch from Becky Fleck.
Thank you so much for playing along this month!
For March, if you submitted your layout by the 28th, you were entered for a prize. The prize for this month was from Nikki Sivils, the “It's Raining, It's Pouring” collection. How appropriate!
The winner for March from my blog is: Megan A.

Here is my March layout. Again, I am using the sketches to get caught up on some older layouts that I need to get done. It feels good to get some layouts done. http://darlaweber.blogspot.com/2011/04/march-project-12-layout.html Posted by: Darla Weber | April 10, 2011 at 01:56 AM
