Good morning SCT friends! Are you ready for a great week? We sure are! We are often asked about organization ideas so over the next few months we'll be asking our team to share their spaces and some ideas about how they organize. Today we've got Design Team Member Lynn Ghahary joining us with her space...
"Hi everybody! Lynn here and today I want to share with you some photos from my craft room. My craft room is actually the bonus room off of my master bedroom. Looking into my room from the hallway in my bedroom, you can see a large picture window at the far end. This window is fantastic as it lets in lots of natural light. I am a stand up scrapper so I have a large worktable set up right in the middle of the room that allows me to easily walk around to all sides and gather whatever supplies I need from around my room.
I have set up various "stations" or work areas around my room. To the right of the large window is a desk that houses my sewing machine. I also keep most of my stamps, mists, etc. in this area as well. These are where I perform my "sit down" tasks or things that take some time and I would get tired from standing at my work table to perform. The Making Memories Embellishment Center is perfect for displaying my various mists and paints - the rainbow of colors just makes me so happy!
On the other side of the room is another Making Memories Embellishment Center that is not pictured below, but it houses a lot of my punches. I also have quite a few other drawers full of punches - I'm addicted to them what can I say! LOL The long wall of my room houses several stacks of cube organizers I purchased from Michaels. These cubes hold the majority of my embellishments, patterned papers, and other supplies. I usually stand at the end of my work table nearest this wall so I can easily turn around and grab whatever items I need while working on a project.
The wall adjacent to the entrance to my room houses my Ikea Expedit. I store all of my cardstock in display racks in my Expedit along with my idea books, baskets full of Thickers and other supplies, and still MORE patterned paper! LOL
And finally on the wall adjacent to the other side of the entrance to my room is a large L-shaped desk that houses my computer, printer, and electronic die cut machines. I also keep some of my recent scrapbook layouts displayed on the wall near my computer.
Thanks so much for "stopping by" my craft space today. If you have any questions regarding how I organize my supplies please feel free to ask them here in the comments! Take care! Lynn :)

Lynn, if I had a craft space that looked like that, I'd NEVER leave it! It is such a lovely space. Thanks for sharing with us.

What a beautiful space! Very relaxing! My embellishment center makes me happy, too. :) I am posting a link to your page on my blog since I would like to use your room as inspiration for my craft room re-do. :)

Love it, Lynn!
Question: Which baskets are those in the Expedit? I've yet to find baskets that fit 12x12 paper.

Wow! What a beautiful, large and clean space. However, I am going to try and incoporate some of your system in the very small scrap space I made for myself in my house(where I am happy to be, when I get time!)

Hi Carol! My work table is from Grandin Road. I bought it several years ago but it looks like they still have it available. You can find it at www.grandinroad.com and search for "project table." Hope that helps! Lynn :)

Hi Jenny! The brown woven baskets in my Expedit are from Target. I bought them years ago and they are the perfect size to hold 12x12 paper, Thickers, and other goodies. I am not sure if the same style is still available, but Target has lots of baskets so I would just take a measurement of the inside dimensions of the Expedit cubby and go shopping! :) Lynn

Oh Lynn, you have wonderful space!!! I love all the natural light and room you have. I would love to have a room upstairs instead of in the basement.
