Good morning friends and Happy Wednesday! We have a new little twist here on the SCT blog for Wednesday's. For the next while we have asked many of our great partners to join us right here and share some fabulous inspiration with you! First up are our friends at Maya Road!
"hi SCT readers,
This is Caroline Lau, one of the partners at Maya Road, and I am thrilled to be here so I can share with you some of the talent of our design team! We just featured a bunch of work from our Design Team at CHA and I wanted to share them here with you. What I love about our team is how diverse everyone's work is. Our philosophy at Maya Road is being able to take some of the same basics we make and turn each one into something all your own and unique.
I want to share with you 5 layouts from our Design Team - each of them are beautiful and unique in their own way but they are united by common elements from Maya Road. As you look through these layouts, notice that each of them contain the following Maya Road products:
1. Kraft and/or Chipboard
2. Wood Pieces
3. Ribbons/Twine Cording
4. Embellishments
Let's start by looking at Anne Jo Lexander's Layout -
Anne was able to fit 4 photos on this page and tie everything together with bright splashes of color that brought out her photos and background. The little Maya Road bits really tied all the photos together. The hand cut feather with the Maya Road Twine Cording vein was the perfect accent to draw your eye in.
Next we have Emily Pitts' Layout -
Emily created focus on her one black and white photo by using a bold background paper. Then she stepped it up by also creating her own embellishments using our Maya Road Twine Cording to create the word "key" and the heart. The word "the" was done in Maya Road Lisa LC chipboard and the red color really draws your eye in to the photo.
Leah Farquharson created this layout:
Leah cleverly tucked her photo into a MR kraft envelope. She then tied embellishments related to sewing all around the photo. Leah also took some of our new Paper Twine Cording and created the green bow accent located on the bottom right of the photo.
Piradee Talvanna created this next layout:
Piradee was able to use a piece of white cardstock with some accents of pattern papers and lots of Maya Road Kraft pieces to finished and tie her layout together. Did you notice the Paper Twine Cording on the spool layered over the diecut butterfly?
Finally Ronda Palazzari created this layout:
Ronda used some light pastel colors as a base and then accented with splashes of black to really pull everything together. She used the brand new Paper Twine Cording to create "ribbons" and then finished everything off with some stamping!
I hope that seeing these layouts gives you ideas on how to be able to take some Maya Road basics and turn them into something uniquely yours. If you want to see more work from our DT, check out our Maya Road DT blog: http://mayaroad.typepad.com/dt/
