Good morning SCT readers, Kimber here. It's closing in on the end of summer and one of the latest lines from Jillibean Soup is Cold Avocado Soup! Doesn't that sound delicious? With a nice mix of blues, greens and yellows, the line has family centered sentiments that can be used for both layouts and cards. From the trendy die-cut frames and location markers to the vintage feel of the brand new flash cards, you can find many uses of this versatile line.
I created a few quick cards with Cold Avocado Soup to share with you.
All Smiles card - For this card, I layered a section of the Bite Sized Bits pattern paper behind the opening in the frame. This made a great central focus for the layered die-cut banner and heart. To finish the card, I clipped a die-cut ticket to the top of the card with some bakers twine tied around the clip.
Best Day Ever card - This card is super easy to create. By layering the grey pattern paper under the blue pattern paper and simply adding a rounded corner on the lower right, you've created great visual interest with little effort. Wrap a bit of twine around the layered pattern papers and tie into a bow on the front before adhering to the front of your card. Finish the card by layering a few die-cuts with a flash card to spell out the sentiment. Perfection!
Life Is Better When You're Laughing card - Start this card by layering the yellow and blue pattern papers. Cut a strip of the chevron pattern paper and create a ribbon effect by trimming one end into a V. Finally, layer a few die-cuts and add some staples and you are finished!
Love This card - After covering the majority of your card base with the blue polka dot pattern paper, add a layer of the Bite Sized Bits pattern paper wrapped with yellow bakers twine. The panels on the Bite Sized Bits are great ways to add a lot of impact, easily. The rest of the elements on this card are die-cut flowers, tickets and blue heart plus one of the new vintage inspired flash cards. So cute!
You & Me card - Again, this card is similar to the Love This card. Start by layering a large piece of yellow pattern paper and a strip of green pattern paper with a ribbon cut end. Then add a panel from the Bite Sized Bits pattern paper. This will give you the main part of the card and sentiment 'You & Me'. Layer a few corrugated people with a die-cut heart and 'joy'. Top the card off with a Stampin' Up! clip and a bit of green bakers twine.
I think you will fall in love with this line as much as I did. I can use it in so many different ways and in different projects. To see the full Cold Avacado Soup line, click here. Later this week, I have a few cards to share with you from the new Christmas themed line - Christmas Cheer Chowder!
