Pennant and banners have been a popular craft addition to our layouts lately, but I wanted to challenge myself to try something different with them. I got a set of stamps from My Minds Eye that had these cute woodgrain pennant shapes, and thought it would be fun to layer them in a ruffle effect for a baby card.
The image comes in a row of three pennants, so I stamped it three times with different shades of ink, trimmed them out individually, and then layered them at the bottom of my card. I started with a row of five and then topped it with a row of four so that they wouldn’t completely cover each other.
I printed my sentiment on my computer, stitched the edge, wrapped it with matching twine from MME, added a button, and adhered it to my card base.
To recreate this card:
- Trim a card base for a 4.25 x 5.5 card.
- Trim patterned paper 4x3 for the bottom half of the card.
- Trim patterned paper 4x4 for the peach/pink top half of the card.
- Trim a thin strip with a border punch.
- Layer and adhere.
Happy Monday! I’ll be back on Wednesday with another fun idea for those pennant/banner shapes.
