It’s May, which means I’m here to play! I love visiting with you each month and giving you a bit about the magazine from where I sit. Being the editor is such an awesome job! I am always left so inspired by what other do and love sharing the end result of all our team’s work with you. In April, I showed you some of what was new with the magazine in the 2016 year. (April post) Today, I thought I’d go over a few of the staples that will remain the same in 2016. What do you say? I also have a bonus project idea to share with you, which I’m pretty excited about. But first, the Spring 2016 issue…

10 YEARS, 10 PRODUCT PICKS
In case you’ve been under a rock and missed it, we’re celebrating our tenth year in publication this year. We’re pretty excited about this milestone and have come up with many ways to shout it from the rooftops, including our 2016 series of articles containing top 10 lists as defined by our team of ten design team members. In the Spring 2016 issue, this list is 10 Years, 10 Product Picks. Like the name suggests, our designers share their top go-to products when scrapbooking.
Jen Gallacher’s go-to is enamel dots. She has this to say about them:
“I never feel like a layout is complete until I’ve added some kind of texture. I love the smooth, raised surface of enamel dots. I also adore that they come in multiple colours and sizes. Making a cluster of dots is pleasing to the eye and definitely one of my signature techniques.”
What is your go-to supply? Here’s what the rest of our design team had to say in response to this question:
Virginia Nebel: Alphabet Stickers
Sheri Reguly: Buttons
Nicole Nowosad: Patterned Paper
Stacy Cohen: Flowers
Marla Kress: Black Marker
Lisa Dickinson: Die Cut Shapes
Emily Pitts: Journaling Cards
Nancy Damiano: Chipboard
Vicki Boutin: Stamps

YOU CALL THE SHOTS
We adore reading your comments right here on the blog, as well as on our social media channels. So much so, in fact, that we designed an entire article of the magazine around this concept. You Call the Shots has projects that respond to your requests, including this page by Virginia Nebel.
The request, made by Kristine C., was this:
“I think it would be great to see different creative ways to use badges.”
We think so too, Kristine! Thanks for the suggestion. See all of the suggestions starting on page 21 of the Spring 2016 issue.
10 MOST WANTED
We know you love the latest and greatest in scrapbooking products as much as we do. So we’re thrilled to continue with our popular 10 Most Wanted column. These Sweet Rolls Stickers by Doodlebug are just one of the ten awesome things you’ll find. What’s your favorite?
CREATIVE CARD TECHNIQUES
We can’t get enough of what Jennifer McGuire brings to the magazine. Here ideas and tricks in Creative Card Techniques are always so inspiring. Here’s one of the three designs she created using sequins.
How do you love using sequins on your designs?
This column may have a new name (formerly Readers’ Gallery), but the idea is the same—we’re sharing a sampling of seasonal projects, designed by our readers, to inspire your card making and scrapbooking. I just adore this one by Ms. Peppermint Granberg . Such a cool take on a basic grid!
ONE DIE, MANY USES
I had such fun with it and the DARLING Little You collection from Crate Paper, that I had to keep on creating. From my layout, came a matching mini album, which I hope to hand off to my daughter one day.
Has something in our Spring 2016 issue inspired you to create? If so, I’d love to see it? Leave me a link below. Or simply share your thoughts on the issue. We always appreciate your feedback!
