Today we’d like to share a fantastic Halloween circle card from Carla Peicheff of London, ON. In fact, we knew you’d like it so much, we asked her to share the step by step instructions!
Here is what you need to make a similar card:
1 pc of cardstock cut to 5x10"
2 pcs of matching patterned paper
15" of ribbon
10" twine
Button
Assorted Gems
Chipboard/rub-on/alpha sentiment
Chipboard embellishment
Step One
Fold your pc of 5x10" cardstock in half. Take a CD/DVD and trace around the CD with a pencil, overlapping the CD about 1-2" over the diameter of the CD on the fold so the card opens and closes.
Step Two
Cut 2 pieces of patterned paper with a coluzzle to fit just inside your circle card base. If you don't have a coluzzle, any cutting machine will work, or simply trace a cup/small bowl. Cut each piece of patterned paper in half and adhere to card on a slight angle. Then machine stitch around the circle and across the seam.
Step Three
Wrap ribbon around card and tie a bow off-center. Wrap twine around ribbon knot and through the button. Tie a bow in the twine to fasten.
Step Four
Adhere sentiment under the ribbon, bling around bottom edge of the card, and chipboard ghost on upper half.
And that's all there is to it! :)
Tips: If you don't have the exact items I listed, be creative and replace items as needed; bling could be swapped for mini brads; instead of ribbon you could use cardstock and a decorative edged punch; and the chipboard ghost could be a die cut or a punched shape. If you're short on time, you could make this card on a regular rectangular sized card base, leaving the fold on top.
Have fun! :)
Very cute card. Thanks for sharing the instructions!
