Happy Monday! This week, we’d like to welcome Kim Hughes as our guest designer. Here is Kim’s challenge:
Love sketches? Today I’d like to show you just how versatile sketches can be! I would like to challenge you to take a sketch and make both a layout and a card with it. Check out what I did on these fall inspired projects.
Here is my sketch:
Here is my layout:
Simple Pleasures
by Kim Hughes, Roy, UT
supplies: patterned paper, Bo Bunny, My Mind’s Eye; stickers, October Afternoon; chipboard, My Mind’s Eye; buttons, Making Memories; other, twine
Here is my card:
Blessings
by Kim Hughes, Roy, UT
patterned paper, Bo Bunny, My Mind’s Eye; sticker, October Afternoon; chipboard, My Mind’s Eye; string, Bazzill; other, twine
You can see that I kept the theme and colours the same for these examples, but that is not necessary. A basic sketch (your own or borrowed) can be applied to virtually any project—have fun!
Thanks for sharing your layout and card Kim, as well as the sketch. Well done!!!!

Love the sketch! It would be great for so many different types of layouts. I also really like how you use it on a card, to be honest, it had never even occurred to me! Great idea! Now I will be looking through other sketches for card ideas too! Thanks!
