Halloween is just around the corner. For those of you who have little ones in school, or for those of you who get special Trick or Treaters at your door, this treat bag is quick, easy, and super cute! My friends and I actually get together and make class sets (assembly line style) of these treat bags so that each child in our children’s classes receives one at school on Halloween. And, in the current climate of “nut awareness,” putting in little dollar store finds instead of candy, means that each child will be able to enjoy the contents.
Here is what you need:
Small clear bags (we get these at Bulk Barn or Michael’s)
Cardstock
Patterned paper
Scallop circle punch
1 3/8” circle punch
Halloween stamps
Coordinating ink
Tape runner and pop dots
Super sticky double sided tape
Dollar store treats (ex. Eyeball bouncy balls, pencil toppers, Jack-o-lantern yo-yo’s, spider rings)
Here is what you do:
1. Cut a piece of cardstock 3x3.75”. Score the 3” length in half at 1.5”.
2. Cut a piece of Halloween patterned paper 1.25x3.5”.
3. Adhere patterned paper to cardstock (in the center of the “front” flap.) Note: it should look like a small place card.
4. Stamp a Halloween stamp on cream cardstock. Let dry and punch out with a 1 3/8” circle punch.
5. Punch a scalloped circle from the same cardstock.
6. Adhere stamped image to scalloped circle using a pop dot.
7. Adhere to center of “front” flap.
8. Fill treat bags with desired contents.
9. Fold treat bags and staple or tape shut.
10. Apply super sticky double sided tape to the underside of both “flaps.”
11. Remove adhesive backing and attach to treat bag.
Here is the finished project:

I have heat embossed the stamped images in the past, but heat embossing x 60 (2 kids with 25-30 kids in each class) gets a little time consuming! Try at your own risk!
Great idea Kerry!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!

I love these! Such a great idea! I think I will transfer this idea to goodie bags for birthday parties. It's so much cuter than the standard goodie bags!

I totally love these. I've given little toys, doo-dads, McDonald's gift certificates for years now, but I never packaged them like this. I'm on it. Thank you for the idea.

I just made my Christmas gifts for the staff at the school I work at. They are somewhat similar to these. They are on my blog.
