Hi everyone! We have a very special guest here this week - Kim Watson, all the way from South Africa, is here to share a fabulous tutorial with us today and will be back tomorrow to share a cute new project that she has just completed. We love Kim's style - from her great photography to her talent with colour and pattern, and from her ability to embellish with both purpose and flair. Thanks for being here with us Kim! Here she is with her tutorial:
Hi there everyone....I hope this post finds you all happy & enjoying a glorious summer? Today I have a sweet journal block tutorial idea to share with you... the perfect to complement any summer page you might be working on.
You will need:
x1 circle journal spot
x1 piece of white or coloured lace
sewing machine or needle & thread
thermo-web adhesive runner
1) Using a large running stitch, sew along the plain edge of your lace, keeping a long piece of thread either side of your lace.
2) Carefully gather the lace holding tightly to one of the thread pieces. Apply the glue underneath the journal spot.
3) Press the lace strip onto the glue, spreading the gathers evenly around the circle. Trim & secure raw edges.
4) Using your sewing machine & a smaller stitch size, stitch around the edge of the circle to secure the lace. I did x2 rows of stitching for effect. Rule journal lines onto spot & you are all ready for your journaling.

I hope you found it helpful! Thanks & have a super day!

The lace around the journaling spot is a fabulous technique - can be used for a card, too. Thank you for the cool idea.
