Well, it is Thursday again already! Is it just me, or is the summer absolutely flying by? One week seems to blend into the other! Today, we have a super sweet layout to share with you from Patti Fortin of St. Hubert, QC. Patti created this layout to showcase some of her four-year-old granddaughter's favourite things and pastimes. In fact, these photos were actually taken by her granddaughter, Elki, so the title can be taken quite literally! What a great layout!

Designer's Project: Emily Pitts

Today, we are so lucky to have Emily Pitts back to share a fun, summer-inspired project with us! Here she is with her card tutorial:

I noticed that while I was working with the wet paper, it kind of felt like working with fabric. I decided to see if I could make a ruffle; kind of like a bed skirt.

3t's with Stephanie Howell

Good morning, everyone! Have we got a treat for you! Today, Stephanie Howell of Waco, Texas is here to share a cool technique for adding vintage glass glitter to chipboard pieces. Stephanie used this same technique on her “heat wave” layout found in our reader’s gallery of the summer issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today. We knew that such a beautiful layout, with such a fabulous technique, just begged to be explained here in further detail.

Designer's Challenge: Emily Pitts

Happy Monday, everyone! We hope that everyone's week is off to a super start! This week, we have designer Emily Pitts here with a fun (and wet!) challenge! Here she is:

We are smack dab in the middle of summer here in the northern hemisphere, and all that my kids want to do is be at the pool! It's hot outside and the best way to cool off is to get wet. That got me to thinking about a technique I've been playing with lately. I have a little mister from Ranger that I've been spraying on small bits of paper and then crinkling them up;  it gives me such a cool texture when it dries. I wondered how it would work for a whole sheet, so I tried. The title work on this layout is the result; I let the paper dry and then cut out the title. I love how much texture it added to the simple page about a perfect summer activity!

So my challenge to you this week is this: Go ahead and get a whole piece of paper wet then crumble it up into a ball, flatten it out, then let it dry. Try different weights of paper; the cardstock I used created a completely different look than the light weight papers I've tried before. I hope you'll have fun with it, and if nothing else, you'll get cooled off a bit!

Reader's Submission: Sherry Stevenson

This cute beach tin that was created by Sherry Steveson inspired us to collect memorabilia, as well as photographs, and fun memories the next time we venture to the beach. Sherry filled this altered tin with shells that she and her family collected at the beach, as well as with a mini-album complete with pictures and journaling from that special vacation. How sweet!
