Good morning everyone! We have two very exciting things to share with you today - our new 2010 design team and Project 12. Yes, we have been very busy!
As we are just about to launch our brand new winter issue in stores (and online!) on December 11th, we thought this would be a perfect time to share with you our fabulous new 2010 team. These talented designers will be sharing their tips, techniques and designs with you in each and every issue in 2010. We could not be more excited to be working with these incredibly talented group of women. Now without further ado, we present…our 2010 team:
Creative Editor:
Crystal Jeffrey RiegerCrystal Jeffrey Rieger has joined the SCT team in the role of Creative Editor. We are thrilled to have her on board and can’t wait to share some of the great ideas that she has up her sleeve. Here is just a little bit about Crystal:
Crystal is a scrapbooker—heart and soul—and nothing sets her creative adrenaline racing like aisles and aisles of colourful paper and a fresh packet of photos. Crystal started scrapbooking as a creative outlet and a way to document her life, but it soon developed into a full-time career. Crystal still pinches herself every morning because she feels so lucky to have a job she is so passionate about.
Crystal’s scrapbook pages have been widely published in many magazines and books and she has written two books on scrapbooking; Cut Loose (Memory Makers, 2008), and The Scrapbooker’s Handwriting Workshop (Memory Makers, 2009). Crystal was a Memory Makers Master and Contributing Editor for Memory Makers magazine before joining the team at
Scrapbook & Cards Today. Crystal travels throughout North America to share her passion through workshops and demos. More of her work can be seen at

Design team:
Kimber McGrayKimber will be joining us again in 2010! Kimber finds inspiration in the everyday, in home décor magazines and in stores like Target and Anthropologie. In 2009 Kimber's 1st book 'Scrapbook Secrets' was released. 2010 will bring 1 more scrapbook based book created by Kimber and fellow SCT Design Team member Summer Fullerton as well as a book chocked full of fresh new card designs. When she’s not scrapbooking, Kimber can usually be found chasing her two children around (both indoors and out), surfing the net, or indulging in just a taste of dark chocolate. You can see more of Kimber’s great designs at

Lisa KischWe also welcome back Lisa! She loves documenting everyday life through scrapbooking. Little moments that would otherwise be forgotten are her passion! Lisa loves photography and learns more about using her camera every day. She is a very slow scrapper, but occasionally challenges herself to complete several layouts in an evening. Here's to working outside your comfort zone! She, too, invites you to stop by her blog and say hi at
www.lisakisch.typepad.com.
Summer FullertonSummer's creative journey began at a young age. She grew up surrounded by inspiration - her mother made dolls, jewelry, pottery and even designed wallpaper. It seemed natural for Summer to take a creative path in life as well. She received her first camera in 1976, and although it wasn't loaded with film until many years later, the seeds of artistry had been planted. She found herself drawn to photography and landed on the yearbook staffs in middle school, high school and college.
After the birth of her first child, Summer discovered scrapbooking as we know it today and has been hooked ever since. In 2007 she was named to the Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame and has been published in many scrapbook magazines.
Summer lives with her husband of 15 years, Brad and her 2 children, Grant and Corinne in Tigard, Oregon. Be sure to stop by Summer’s blog at

Davinie Fiero
Davinie Fiero lives in Redmond, Oregon with her firefighter hubby and two cute girls, Morgan and Payton. She started scrapbooking archivally after the birth of her eldest daughter, Morgan, and hasn't turned back since. She finds scrapbooking to be creative therapy for the stresses of everyday life staying at home with the kids, and working part time from home in the health insurance industry, and will occasionally skip chores and make macaroni and cheese for dinner if that means more time to create.
Davinie has had her work published in all of the major scrapbook / paper crafting magazines, as well as some web-based scrapbooking publications. She is currently a designer for Pink Paislee, Studio Calico and she participates in a card challenge blog called Cardalicious. She writes monthly scrapbook articles for an online and in print parenting magazine called True North. She also teaches scrapbook classes at her local scrapbook store in Bend, Oregon. Contributing Writers:
Emily PittsAs a third grader, Emily Pitts aspired to be a bulletin board designer for elementary school teachers. When she learned that such a career was not really plausible, she was crushed. Years later, when she discovered scrapbooking, she knew she could fulfill her dream. When she was asked to write for Scrapbook & Cards Today, things got even better, marrying her love of paper and her love of writing. She couldn’t be happier.
Emily lives a mile high in beautiful Denver, Colorado, enjoying the famous 300 days of sunshine for which the Rocky Mountains are known. She is married to her perfect match, Kelly, who is patient very patient with her need to create and take photos. They have two near perfect children, Annie (15) and Ethan (almost 12). Together, they provide endless inspiration for Emily’s scrapbooking needs.
Emily has been published in several scrapbook publication and has the pleasure of writing a regular column on trends for SCT. Emily also works for Studio Calico, a kit club and manufacturer. So while bulletin boards are no longer her genre of choice, she has found her place in the world of design. To learn more about Emily, visit her blog at

Kathy Thompson LaffoleyKathy lives in Riverview, New Brunswick with her husband Jim, their two daughters Emma (17) and Rebecca (15) and their very beloved and ‘aging’ chocolate lab, Lincoln. Her style is simple, very photo centred and timeless. Kathy really feels that if she starts with a good photograph, she will have the makings of a great page!
Kathy loves to share what she has learned about photography and witness those ‘a-ha!’ moments when people are behind the camera and something ‘clicks’! You can see Kathy’s work in “just shoot me” – a four part series in
Scrapbook & Cards Today!
Outside of her scrapbooking life, she works full time as a Project Co-ordinator for a commercial real estate firm, and has a serious addiction to diet coke!
Vicki Boutin
Colour, texture, paper and glue are the things that keep Vicki creating! With a background in Graphic Design and the Fine Arts she has always been passionate about making things. Be it layouts, cards, altered items or exploring new techniques, Vicki loves to jump outside her creative comfort zone and give it a try.
Vicki has enjoyed a successful career in publication, has worked with a variety of scrapbook manufacturers and has been honored to be a part of numerous design teams. Her focus over the last few years has also expanded to include creating and teaching a variety of technique based workshops throughout North America and Europe.
