Good Monday morning! I am thrilled to be on the SCT blog this week and have some new and exciting collections from Studio Calico to share with you. Of course I also have a project and a challenge for you too!
In case you aren’t familiar, what was once a kit club is now also a manufacturer. Studio Calico started out as a scrapbook kit club, cleverly combining traditional and vintage elements into kits to take the guesswork out of products in your products. They started out by creating exclusive products for their kits like paper, stamps, and even stickers.
This brought them into the world of manufacturing and they recently released their debut collection, Homefront:
Imagine June Cleaver styled 1950s domestic bliss. Featuring optimistic colors and smooth vintage inspired patterns. You’ll find fresh stained wood grain, retro home décor, an exclusive SC cardstock alpha set, and much more. Home Front is versatile, colorful, and beautiful (can we say that?)….we think you’ll love it.
Recently at the craft show in Anaheim, Studio Calico had it’s first booth as a manufacturer and released this new line at the show, along with Homefront. To describe Anthology, they say “Anthology encompasses the basics with classic geometric patterns, typographic themes, and fantastic floral designs. Anthology is universally simple while remaining classically vintage (sounds yummy!). This collection includes a full release of beautiful paper, label stickers, journaling cards, FabRips, rub-ons, and a cardstock alpha set. We think you’ll find Anthology quite inspiring.

Aren’t they wonderful? Different, vintage and fresh? I am a huge fan and it’s often hard to decide which side to use. If you want to know the story behind how these designs were created, be sure to check out April’s post at the Studio Calico blog here.

So my challenge to you today is to mix up some new patterns and have some fun! Don't let bold patterns scare you. Cut out an element, add some dimension, add some yellow even and stand back and admire!
Be sure to check out the Wednesday post and I’ll share the rub-ons, the fabrips that are oh so cool, and maybe we’ll have ourselves a little giveaway on Friday! (But, you did not hear that from me! Our little secret!!) In the meantime, if you are interested in a chance to win both the Homefront and Anthology Collections, see the Project 12 post here. I hope you’ll play along!
Have a great day!

OMG!! I love these papers. I was given a kit from Studio Calico a while back and loved it. Now to be able to buy their products makes me happy. Love your LO, Davinie!

I am absolutely loving the flowers in the corner that "pop" off the page! A good reminder that we don't have to use pages as backgrounds all the time but can use elements from a page like this to make our layouts "pop".
