Freebie Friday Giveaway - We R Memory Keepers

Happy Friday Everyone!  Last weekend at ScrapFest Kimber taught a great paper piecing make n' take using the Vintage Blue collection from We R Memory Keepers.  People loved it so much that we thought it would make a perfect freebie Friday giveaway! Check out how Kimber stamped and pieced the beautiful image of the hot air balloon on this sweet card.  Wondering where the balloon stamp came from?  It is from Stamping Bella and something tells me if we ask Emily she might send the winner that stamp too!

Here is a peek at some of this beautiful collection.  Some papers have stitching on them, some have a spot gloss in places, some have 4 seperate 6" x 6" papers on them (love those!) and the colours are absolutely perfect for this spring season!!  Yes, We R has done it again.

Reader's Submission Thursday!

For those of you who regularly follow the SCT blog you will know how much we love Thursday's!  We love showing off.  There I said it.  Yes, we love showing off all the fabulous artwork we are sent each week.  Keep them coming!  Today's layout from Amy Coose is such a sweet one - a fun, happy birthday layout that lists her daughter's 8 favourite things at age 8.  We loved how playful this layout was and thought it conveyed the mood of the pictures perfectly!

Designer Project with Lisa!

"I've got a quick and easy project for you this Wednesday and it involves something you're doing right now - being online!  I am sure many of you use some type of social networking online like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter blogs or message boards.  These sites provide great fodder for your scrapbook pages because they give a glimpse into the right here, right now of your life (not to mention some of the easiest page journaling you'll ever do!)  All you have to do is select some of your recent online posts, copy and paste them into a word processing program, and print them out for a super easy page.  Here's my take on the project:

I used many of my recent tweets on Twitter to create an interesting background element for the page.  Not only does it work like patterned paper, it also gives a peek into what I've been talking about over the past few weeks (something I'm sure that a few years from now will be interesting to look back on!)  I added a few photos of me at my computer that my daughter took and in less than 20 minutes, I have a completed page.  You could do something similar with your Facebook status updates, message board posts, or text from your blog.  So easy!"

Tell us a little about yourself?  I am a 38 year-old wife and mama to two who's been scrapping for about 11 years. I have a degree in Advertising, and am currently working as a freelance graphic artist.  I'm currently working for KI Memories, Jenni Bowlin Studio, and write.click.scrapbook.   When I'm not scrapping, I enjoy reading, creative writing, running, being outdoors, and entertaining my kiddos.

Where do you look for inspiration?  Everywhere!  My favorite places are Target, non-scrapping magazines, and home decor blogs!

What are your top three products right now?  Embossed textured cardstock, spray mist inks, and anything with butterflies.

What could you not live without?  Scrapbook-wise, I have to have my xacto knife and my alphabet stickers & chipboards.  Life-wise, I can't live without my morning coffee and my iMac!

Designer Challenge with Lisa Dickinson!

Happy Monday everyone!  For those that we saw at ScrapFest this past weekend, thank you for stopping by.  Kimber, Lisa, Sarah, Vicki and I enjoyed seeing our readers, doing some great make n' takes and having a little fun in the crop too.  Those ladies with the silver hair were such fun!  Now, we are very excited to have one of our favourite designers join us on the blog this week.  Lisa Dickinson's great design style, paired with great colour combinations, make her layouts ones that go in my "scraplift" pile...lol.  Enjoy!

"Hello SCT friends!  I'm so happy to be hosting the Designer's Challenge this Monday and I think you'll be excited about it too.  Know why?  Because it's all about YOU!  This is the week to scrap a page about yourself (especially if you've been putting it off!)   I know, I know, sometimes these pages are the hardest to do.  And it you're especially modest, it might seem boastful or self-absorbed to scrap a page about yourself.  But I'm telling you - it's not (and I'm officially giving you permission to be self-centered this week and get some facts about you down on paper.)

Think about it...wouldn't you treasure more information about your mom, or your grandmother?  Wouldn't you love to know the things they were doing, or thinking, or feeling at various points in their lives?  How cool would it be to get a glimpse at their dreams, their fears, their worries, their indulgences?  To compare the similarities and differences between them and you?  Personally, I would love to have known some of these tidbits (and I'm hoping my kids will want to know these things about me, too!).  So I'm working diligently to include more pages about myself in my scrapbooks.  And I think you should too!

On this page, I wanted to write down some of worries I have on a regular basis.  I'm sure these type of fears and anxieties are normal for most moms, but at times they can become overwhelming.  So I wrote them all down (an act in itself which is very therapeutic!)  And looking at the list, I can see how many of these things are completely out of my control.  And that worrying about them seems a bit silly.  I'm sure it won't keep me worry-free (I'm a mom, remember!) but it serves as a good reminder for those days when I do.

I hope you'll take my challenge to document something about yourself this week.  It doesn't even have to be deep or profound -  it could be as simple as the top 10 songs from your iPod playlist or your favorite guilty pleasure.  The important thing is that it gives a glimpse into YOU.   And if you do create something, leave us a link - I'd love to check it out!

Freebie Friday Giveaway - Bo Bunny!
