"One of my favorite trends is handmade paper flowers! They come in every shape and size, and find their way onto almost every scrapbook page (if you missed Davinie's paper flowers from last week click here)! Well, here’s a little twist on this trend—instead of using patterned paper, I’ve created some handmade flowers using American Crafts Dear Lizzy fabric paper. The fabric paper adds a slightly different feel and texture than patterned paper, as you can see on my beach page below.
Supplies: patterned papers, fabric paper, thickers, chipboard shape, brads, American Crafts; mini letter stickers, My Little Shoebox; dimensional foam squares, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3LHere’s what you need:
- American Crafts Dear Lizzy fabric paper
- coordinating brads or buttons
- a scrap of cardstock
- 1 inch circle punch
- craft glue suitable for fabric and paper
- scissors
Cut a strip of fabric paper about ½ inch wide by 12 inches long.
Peel off the backing to expose the adhesive. Fold in half and pinch together.Punch a 1 inch circle out of a scrap of cardstock and cover with glue (leave a bit of a border to prevent too much run off).
Roll up the entire folded fabric paper strip and place it on the glue covered cardstock circle. Hold it in place for about 30 seconds so the glue can set. Wipe up any excess glue before it dries.
Trim excess paper off so none of the cardstock underneath the flower shows.
Add coordinating brads or buttons to the center.
Here is a bonus tip too...if you don’t have fabric paper, try adhering fabric to cardstock with a spray adhesive and then follow the steps above. That's all there is to it! Very simple and yet so pretty on your page! Go ahead and give it a try." ~ Aly

Too cute! Here's a YouTube video of Elizabeth Kartchner (Dear Lizzy) showing how to make another type of flower embellishment using the paper:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ull8-X5rKdg

They really look nice and ideal for scrap books. What I used to do is also add fresh flowers and arrange them and wait for them to dry.
