Good morning, everyone, and HAPPY MONDAY to you! While normally I’m not a huge fan of Mondays, today’s truly a happy one because not only are the boys are back home from a week at Cub Scout Camp but tomorrow we’re off on a family adventure to a nearby water park! Oh, how I enjoy the summer!
And since I mentioned the word “summer”, let me get right to the point of my blog post for today. I’m so excited for this! I am challenging each one of you to create something with that summery feel – a sunshine-y card, a layout with bright colors, a glass of homemade lemonade (kidding!), just anything that screams the fun and excitement of summer! I had the chance to do this when working with Kimber on her color article for the current summer issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today (click here to download all 68 pages!). The new line of Rusted Sun from Fancy Pants was just perfect for a layout of a day at the pool for my son and his water gun! And after mimicking a few suns and rays, I had a page that left no doubt as to the warmth and fun of summertime:
Supplies: Fancy Pants patterned paper, buttons, brads, alpha stickers (brown), stickers, trim; Zig pen; WorldWin Cardstock; BasicGrey alpha stickers (blue); Fiskars border punch; Colorbox (Clearsnap) chalk ink.
The journaling reads:
No one is given any mercy in your ferocious water gum battles. You attack randomly and without warning, even holding my camera hostage a time or two! I might not like getting wet but for now I’ll be sure to “Soak It Up”.
I can’t wait to see what that summer-feel means to you! Be sure to come back here and link up your projects so that I can see them. And as an added incentive, I just might have a special prize for one of you that do just that by next Monday, July 5th (gosh, is it coming up on July already?!)!
See you Wednesday!
~ Kelly

Cute cute cute!!! This layout is awesome! I just love how you have your journaling right there behind some of the goodies.. and the great title, and the sun! Such a good mommy to 'soak it up'!
My little guy just got back from his cub scout camp, too! Summer is a blast...

Our summer fun is all about hanging out together in the backyard. Here's a layout of the kids messing around in the kiddie pool.

I love waterfights! I got a soaking last Sunday when my DH was trying out all the water guns.
Here is a layout I made this week.
