Good morning everyone! Are you ready for an exciting week? Hope so because we have got some exciting things going on! Today we have guest designer Vivian Masket with a cute challenge for you. Vivian will also be with us again on Wednesday with some beautiful cards. Take it away Vivian...
"If you’re anything like me, you’ve got a nice stash of punches, and perhaps even a die-cutting machine or two. While I love my punches and my die-cutting machine, I often feel guilty tossing the scraps left over after I’ve punched or cut my shape. (Okay, only slightly guilty, as I am obsessive about making sure my scraps make it into the recycling bin and out to the curb for pickup every other week.) For this layout, I decided that I’d work on my guilt and use both the negative and positive shapes created by my heart punch. I was thrilled with the results!
Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: October Afternoon (pink, green, grid), Cosmo Cricket (word strip); Punch: The Paper Studio; Pen: Sakura
(Disclaimer: the fourth positive heart shape was used by my daughter on a card she made for her dad.)
I’m sure that you’ll be thrilled with the results as well, so here’s my challenge: create a layout or card that uses both positive and negative shapes. I can’t wait to see what you do! ~ Vivian
Thank you Vivian! Before we leave you today we have a winner for our Stampin' Up! giveaway from August 20th. But even before we do that, we would like to thank you for all your comments on your current favourite articles and what you might like to see more of. We are meeting soon to review our editorial calendar for 2011 and this will be extremely helpful! Now on to the winner....
I love Becky's pagemaps. They're so beautiful. Pages on specific techniques, including using particular tools or products are really useful. And the current article by Stacy Julian on digital photography is inspiring. Now excuse me while I go and purge some photos...

Congratulations Linda! And Vivian.. I love how you used the negative and postives with your hearts. The colors you picked out really highlight the colors in the photos! Well done!

I love the idea of using "negative and positive" with scraps of materials. I am going to make some out of my many scraps and use. Thanks for the inspiration.

I really prefer using only 3 positive hearts at the bottom since there are 3 of you in all the pics and because I like using odd numbers. GREAT layout!!

I was enjoying reading the blog as usual, when to my amazement, I read that I had won the Stampin' Up giveaway. What excitement! I love their products and can't wait to see what I've won. Thanks for the congrats, gals.
I think Vivian's positive/negative idea has lots of potential. Love the effect it gives on the layout. Maybe there will be a punch in my prize that I can use...
