(Not sure where to post your layout? see the end of this post!)
Every month I chime in about how fast the summer is going, and this month is no exception. The summer went by fast! It’s almost school time at our house. But when I look back, I can’t believe all the fun things our family did this summer, so I guess the speed had to do with the fun we were having, right?
Becky’s sketch for July was perfect for the amount of activities and photos I had to document. Here’s a reminder:
And this is my layout:
I changed the sizes on a couple of photos due to the orientation I had to work with. At first I wanted to start over and make them smaller as they dominated the page, but then I realized how silly I was, and that the point of this particular layout is to showcase the photos loud and clear, so I left them as such and I’m very happy with how things worked out on this one.
Here’s a peek at some of the other submissions this month:
The first layout I want to share is from Roslyn.
Roslyn didn’t have a lot of photos for July, so she used the sketch for August instead, as she has a lot of photos for August. That is totally OKAY! The sketches are here for inspiration. It is perfectly fine to use any or none of the sketches for this challenge. The purpose is memory keeping for your life.
I loved the tone on tone color to this layout. I like the inked edges to the journaling piece to help it stand out against the base paper, and I like the dotted frame to the photos. Nice job Roslyn!
Take a peek at this layout, submitted by Claire:
Two things stood out to me on this one. I loved that she used the same patterned paper throughout this layout, separating it with the neutral cardstock. I also really liked the rounded corners on both her papers and her photos.
The embellishments she used to tie the design in visually were perfect for this layout. Claire indicated they are a Turkish good luck sign and that she has just returned from Turkey. What a great time to use them on a layout! Loved this one.
Lastly is this one from Jill. Jill, thank you for submitting your work! You did a beautiful job with the sketch:
I really liked the pattern paper base rather than the neutral cardstock. It really made the bird pattern pop. I also like that she took advantage of all this journaling space and really told her story.
Thank you to those who played along this month and submitted their work. I love going through each entry. How about we give away some adhesive?!
From my blog: Jen (jdscrappy.blogspot.com)
And the winner from the SCT blog is: Ruby Marchand!
Thank you ladies! Send an email with your name and address to [email protected] and let them know you won the July Project 12 prize! You will be enjoy playing with the Bo Bunny Petal Pusher line!
I look forward to playing with you again next month. Here’s the sketch:
As always, you have until the 20th of October to link your SEPTEMBER layout to this post or email [email protected] to have it included in the Project 12 Facebook Album! This month you are playing for...ready for it...??? The brand new, not yet released Scrapbook PageMaps 2! You will be the first on your street to own this fabulous new book autographed by Becky Fleck herself. Imagine, you will be the envy of all your scrappy friends. It is absolutely worth playing for!
So, to save any confusion as to where to post your layouts let's do a recap...to be included in a prize offering the sketch for the month must be either linked to the thread that sketch was REVEALED ON or sent to us by the 20th of the next month. For example your September layout would be linked to today's post or be sent to us by October 20th (we want to give you a few weeks once the month ends to gather all your photos and get your layout done).
For those working on their August layouts, please link them to the post that the August layout was revealed on (this one!) or send them to us by September 20th. Hopefully that is clear however, if you have any concerns just email us at [email protected]. We are more than happy to clarify!
Thank you all for playing along with Project 12! You are in the home stretch! See you next month with October's sketch from Becky and our August reveal. Enjoy the last days of summer!
