Good morning everyone! Thank you so much for joining us on this BIG day. We have so much to share with you, so go and grab a coffee, tea, or your favourite morning drink and stay with us until the end! You will be so glad you did!
First, let's unveil the newest issue - Fall 2010! Isn't it pretty! That beautiful layout was designed by design team member Lisa Kisch and the picture on the cover is her sweet daughter Lily. When Lisa showed us this picture from last fall, we immediately said we had to have it! Lily is adorable in her perfect pumpkin outfit. We loved how Lisa tilted her photo and her stitching adds warmth and texture to the layout. Bravo Lisa!
On to more exciting news! Although we had some guesses yesterday as to what the news might be, the big surprise is...we have a new brand new, BEAUTIFUL website to share with you! The SCT team has worked very hard over the past 8 weeks to launch a new website that is not only extremely user-friendly, but one that is interactive, up to the minute and full of great inspiration! I hope you will hop on over to our website at www.scrapbookandcards.com (of course after you finish reading today's post!) and check out these great things:
- you can" view" the issue online (no downloading required) OR you can "download" the issue right to your computer - the choice is yours!
- bonus articles and interviews with some of the industry's best designers. Check out our interview with Stacy Julian!
- brand new PageMaps you can download
- a fabulous "search" button that allows you to search the whole site (love those buttons!)
- an even easier and secure subscription process through Paypal (you do not need a Paypal account)
- a calendar of events of what's coming up and where we'll be
- a retail store directory (these stores carry Scrapbook & Cards Today - hurry to get your fall issue)
- monthly giveaways and contests!
We hope you will continue to visit our site over the next several months to see what we have going on. Be sure to answer our monthly question for the opportunity to win a free subscription!
(keep reading friends, because we are not done yet!)
The next piece of exciting news is today's AMAZING giveaway! When we were at CHA we saw this fabulous machine in action and loved what could be done in a matter of seconds with a simple press on the handle. We are talking about the "Cinch" from We R Memory Keepers. This is a must for a scrapbook room - not only to make mini books, but also to make recipe books, journals, or in my case to bind magazines (I did that in our office one day!). So what do you have to do to win this great machine? You have to go and visit our new website of course! And while you are there, answer some of these questions....
- who is our first featured reader?
- what company did Stacy Julian launch a new product with?
- tell us which advertiser is hosting a layout challenge on Facebook! (pssst...look at page 9 of the fall issue)
- name one of our ten most wanted products
- name three of our design team members! (so easy!)
- and...have a look at the Something Special this issue because those frames are just really pretty!
When you have the answers to those five questions and can tell us what you loved most about the fall issue, leave a comment below with your answers and we will choose a random winner to win the Cinch next Thursday, September 30th at 6:00 p.m. EST! Good luck everyone!
And lastly from our editor Becky Fleck..."October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Scrapbook & Cards Today is donating $5 from every new subscription purchased during the month of October! Join us as we continue to fight this deadly disease and purchase a subscription during the month of October. While you are at it, why not purchase one for a friend! Visit our website at www.scrapbookandcards.com to subscribe." ~ Becky
Well, that is our big news and I would like to congratulate the entire SCT team, from our editors, our design team, our graphic design and web design teams, and all the others that bring each issue to YOU! And I would like to thank YOU for taking the time to join us today. Now go, put your feet up, and read our beautiful fall issue! And, just to tempt you a little more to stay right in front of your computer for a little while longer, go check out our design team's blogs today because something tells me there might be a few giveaways there too ;)
Be sure to join us tomorrow for October's Project 12 reveal! Another fabulous sketch by PageMaps is on its way!
~ Catherine
