Designer inspiration with Lisa!

Good morning everyone!  Have you marked your calendars to join us on Friday for the release of our fall issue?  Make sure you do (wink, wink!)  We have a big announcement to make and of course a fabulous giveaway to celebrate issue 19! 

Lisa is joining us again this week (if you didn't see her beautiful layout on Monday, click here!) and how she used flock to make a great impact.

"Today I'd like to share a layout that I made to document our 100 year old home. We were going through a major renovation, and I felt the need to document our house on that exact day-- before all the demolition began! To soften this layout, I added some flocking. Now, I love the look of flock-- but not so much the glue and mess that can sometimes go along with loose flock. I look for products that are flocked already that I can add directly to my layout. Can you spot the flock?

I used pink flocked letters and patterned paper from the "Lush" line by My Mind's Eye. The soft, fuzzy letters subtly referenced how I feel about my home, and the pink flowers that I cut from the patterned paper almost look like they could have come  from my garden.

Try adding some flocked products to your next project-- completely mess free!

3T's Hybrid Tuesday with Paula!

This year I have great plans to help my kids stay organized or at least get ready for school, and of course I used my digital supplies to do it. Inspired by an article in the Disney Family Fun magazine I made a place mat checklist, which is like a chore chart.

Challenge Monday with Lisa Kisch!

Good morning!  It is the start of a very exciting week around here!  Mark your calendars for Friday when our fall issue releases in stores and on our website!  Oh, and did we mention there is another big surprise? Oh yes, around here we love surprises!  But before we get to Friday we have a fabulous week on the blog.  Today we have Lisa Kisch with a beautiful layout and challenge for you...

"There are a million ways to use photo grids on a layout-- but it's just as effective using patterned paper for your grid. Those little squares not only make a striking background and use up scraps, they can also provide a home for the different design elements in your layout. Take this layout below:

 
supplies:  Patterned Paper, Pebbles Inc.; Stickers, American Crafts: Cosmo Cricket; Ribbon, American Crafts; Gems, Kaisercraft

I took 7 squares of paper from the Pebbles Inc. "Twitterpated" line and placed them in a grid. (In this case I knew that my photo would cover up two of the spots, so I didn't bother cutting out all 9 squares.) I offset my 4x6 photo, and then I started to embellish each square. One square held my title, another my sub-title, and a third my simple journaling in the form of three word stickers. A little ribbon and a few gems on the other squares and I was done. A neat and tidy layout using a simple grid.

Your challenge is to use a patterned paper grid on a layout, and embellish each square in some way. We can't wait to see what you come up with!  Send them to us at ideas@scrapbookandcards.com and we will feature them on the blog."
