(Not sure where to post your layout for the month? See the end of this post!)
Good morning! School is back in session and the weather is starting to change. Starbucks is out with their pumpkin spice lattes, and Hershey has caramel apple kisses amongst other delicious new flavors for the fall season here in the states.
I’m trecking right along with Project 12 and am yet again so thankful that I am keeping with this challenge. I have been told many times that local scrapbook stores are doing monthly Project 12 challenges and I think it’s a wonderful thing to know that this challenge has participation worldwide. How cool is that?! (and remember all the sketches are on our website at http://www.scrapbookandcards.com/project-12-sketches so you can download them and catch up anytime!)
August was a busy month at my house but I really enjoyed the August sketch because I a few significant events and liked the option of summarizing them with one photo each. As a reminder, here’s that August sketch:
And this is what I did with it this month:
I was able to mainly use contents from a recent scrapbook kit for this layout, although I did grab some My Minds Eye from my stash to be able to do the background green dot print. Camping and the outdoors provided a great opportunity to break out some Cosmo Cricket squirrels, too. I was having trouble with the tree in the sketch so decided to fill the space in a different way while keeping the photos as they were used in the sketch.
Now before we move on to the September sketch, as always, some August submissions this month that caught my eye:
Roslyn used the July sketch because she had a lot to document. I like how she used two different base papers in the same color scheme in the design, and I really want to know more about those flowers. Are they packaged or did you make them? I LOVE those.
Brenda’s layout is adorable! I love that she put a photo in place of the tree in the design. I love that polka dot vellum. I love the ribbon. And I love the little birdies and the cute photos. I can see your life here, which is what this challenge is about.
I’ve shared these calendar pages before but I feel compelled to do that again. I am absolutely going to do this next year. Maybe even in addition to my regular layout. I love that she documented dinner, and when the car wouldn’t start. These things are going to be fun to look back on years down the road, you know, when we fly to the grocery store. These everyday moments are worth preserving and I love that Jennifer does that, and includes photos too.
This last one is from Shelly. I am in LOVE with her contributions each and every month! As I may have mentioned before, she went back and is documenting 2006. I simply adore this interpretation of the sketch, the extra photo, and that darling baby photo at the bottom of the page is icing on the cake. I love all the details around the edges and how she did her journaling as well. Shelly. Rocks. Every time.
As always, thank you for participating. If you want further inspiration for this challenge, I hope you will go and check out the SCT Facebook page with all the entries submitted via email. It is full of fun ideas for this challenge.

Hi Davine,
I'm so flattered to see my page here! Those flowers - and I think you mean the small one that is on there 3 times - are from Maya Road. They are canvas and I used them 'naked' but can't wait to try coloring them with some of the lovely sparkly misty stuff that's all over the place now! Maybe I'll do that for next month's page! Can't wait to do September's page...some great stuff to document!

When I saw this sketch, I was a little worried... but when I discovered some paper I just bought, it actually came together pretty easily for me :)
