(Not sure where to link your layout? See the end of this post for all the details!)
Happy Holidays! By now you have celebrated both Halloween and Thanksgiving, and we still have a month to go before the holiday food is out of the fridge. My hips can’t take it!
I don’t know about you but I got carried away with Fall at my house and got my Project 12 layout finished in the nick of time. Sometimes it’s hard to fit that hobby in with the daily grind, but as always, I’m happy I did.
I’m keeping things short and sweet this month, as there are toilets to clean, snowmen to build, cookies to bake, and the crew at SCT have calendars to mail. I sure hope you have had a chance to check out the 2011 calendar, which is basically an idea and sketchbook as well. Last I heard, they were almost sold out. What a great Christmas gift for a loved one or creative friend. Look into it!
As a reminder, here is the October sketch I worked with this month:
And here is my interpretation:
I did things differently with the sketch this month. I printed it out, set it in front of me, and went through my digital files. I scanned through the month quickly to get a reminder as to the order of events, and then I started at the beginning and worked left to right on the sketch, and set aside photos to use, noting their description on my sketch. I “moved” photos as needed and the entire process was much faster than in previous months. I plan to do that again with the next sketch.
I was looking through the SCT Facebook album submissions, and came across this submission from Margy that I HAD to share:
The little splashes of color with the patterned papers and the black and white photos blows my mind. I love the font used for the title, the bling (and I don’t usually do bling!), and the black inked edges too. I hope Becky gets a chance to see this layout. I adore it.
As always, a prize is associated with the monthly challenge and October's prize was ...do you remember? It was the fabulous book Remember This! by Kimber McGray and Summer Fullerton.
The winner from SCT is:

Thanks for featuring my layout, Davinie! This has been such a fun challenge, and it's helped me assemble the annual photobook for the grandparents. The pages are simpler, but I just lift my journaling from these pages and the work's half done!
Congrats on your prizes, Jennifer and Lisa!
