Happy Monday morning! We hope everyone had a great weekend! We have a great week scheduled for the blog and thanks to your comments last week, we've got some new things planned too. This week we have guest designer Sheri Reguly joining us. Sheri's beautiful style had us at "hello". Challenge!
If you ask me, white is anything but boring, especially when it's surrounded by bold color and pattern. I love the fresh feel it creates, and how a simple touch can have such a big impact on my designs.
My challenge for you, is to use white to create bold contrast. I've done this in several different ways with this particular design...the reversed text, the white embossed accent, the white punched hearts, and the touches of white showing through the punched border along the bottom of my page.
Get creative, and have fun incorporating unexpected touches of "white" into your next design!
We also asked Sheri a few questions to get to know her a little better!
Tell us a little about yourself?
I'm a stay at home mom to our happy little family of four. When not cheering on the kiddos at the various activities they participate in, I love spending time in my scrapbook studio creating, taking countless photos of both the big and small moments of our lives, and adding simple touches to decorate our home. My mission for 2011, is organization. My biggest pet peeve...clutter.
What is your favorite colour combination right now?
There are so many different color combinations that I love. Lately though, I love pairing various shades of turquoise with green. You can almost always find a touch of white and kraft included in my pages as well.
What one product could you not live without?
My favorite scrapbooking product would have to be patterned paper. I love how just a little touch can influence the entire feel of a design. I also love my punches, and honestly can not remember the last time I created a project without one.
Where do you go for inspiration?
I find inspiration all around me, in everything from children's clothing to home decor magazines.
When I go looking for it though, I usually either turn to the internet, or dig into my huge stash of scrapbooking magazines!
Did you see Sheri's beautiful "something special" in our Winter issue? Have a look here. Sheri will be joining us again on Wednesday with another great project. Don't miss it!
Have a great day!
I loooove anything Sheri creates...Huge fan. Gorgeous LO!!

The white definetly softens the page and the picture matches that feeling so well. This one will be hard for me but as I typically do bright and bold.

I think the white really shows of the blues. I love the reversed text look. Great layout with some techniques I'll have to try.
