Hey everyone! It's Friday, and if that alone isn't reason to celebrate, how about joining us in celebrating World Photography Day!
As scrapbookers, our photos are often the foundation or starting points of our pages - isn't it a wonderful feeling to look through your photos and smile as the memories come flooding in? As you notice the small details, the moments in time that you've captured, that were here and now they're gone? You know the feeling, the story starts to come together and you can't get that cardstock out fast enough!
According to the World Photography Day site, "World Photography Day originates from the invention of the Daguerreotype, a photographic processes developed by Louis Daguerre. On January 9, 1839, The French Academy of Sciences announced the daguerreotype process. A few months later, on August 19, 1839, the French government announced the invention as a gift “Free to the World.”
Your photos are a gift, not only to yourself and your family but to the generations to come! Celebrate World Photography Day by taking a moment to capture a few photos today, and of course it would not be a celebration on the SCT blog without a prize!
"Picture Keeper is the simplest automatic picture backup device. Unique built in software automatically finds and copies all of your photos. Oh I need one of these as my workstation just died in July. I did buy a new laptop but haven't been able to "rescue" my photos from the hard drive yet. This would be perfect to save those photos on.
