Digital templates are all over the place these days. Did you know that you can use them in traditional paper layouts? I used the following template as a basis for one of my layouts: Caught on Film by Katie Pertiet (www.designerdigitals.com)
I used the digital frame and the journaling spot from the template in my layout. I then used the template as a sketch for the rest of my design - for patterned paper and embellishment placement choices. It's pretty easy to do. First open the template in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Locate the layers for the elements you wish to use.
Create a new canvas for the elements you want to print, in this case you could print the entire frame cluster on an 8.5x11 sheet. Using clipping masks, clip your photos onto the photo-placeholders by positioning the photos in the layer above and hitting shift-ctrl-G in Photoshop or ctrl-G in Photoshop Elements.
Create new canvas to hold the journaling tag (unless you want to print it on photo-paper). I created mine as 4x6. Drag the journaling tag and text box onto the canvas. Add your journaling and print - I printed mine on patterned paper.
Once I had my digital elements printed, I cut around the edges and assembled my layout, using the digital template as a guide. I added patterned paper, embellishments and a title.
I hope this gives you some ideas on how you can use digital template in your paper scrapping! I'd love to hear from you if you have any specific questions regarding hybrid scrapbooking - please feel free to contact me through my blog: http://scraptherefore.blogspot.com

I have to let you know how much I admire Summer's layouts and the unique and beautiful color combos she uses. I regret to say, however, that althoguh I love The Color Suite, I am doing a poor job of scrapping layouts and sending them in. I notice that there were no layouts to see last month (and perhaps the month before) other than Summer's. Could it be that other people are also not as productive as they would like?
Just wondering if I am not looking in the right place on the website.
