Happy March everyone! Springtime is almost upon us and I love this time of year. For me it means new beginnings, rejuvenated energy and fresh ideas.
Today I am excited to share with you a little new discovery I made using the ‘No More Shims’ mat from Scor-pal. This product is a thick rubbery mat you use to sandwich and roll through your Cuttlebug or Big Shot to emboss brass stencils, thin dies, lace, leaves etc. I tried it with some Maya Road chipboard shapes and love the effect! (I used the same sandwich instructions written for embossing brass stencils). See how the chipboard shapes have embossed onto the cardstock, neat eh? Just think and imagine all the possibilities to make your own embossing patterns with the mountain of chipboard you have collected!
Can’t find the chipboard shape you want to emboss? You can make your own. Here, I cut out chipboard with my Sizzix die to create the chipboard element and embossed onto Co’ ordinations cardstock. I sanded it lightly to emphasize the design of the chipboard shape.
Supplies: Maya Road, No More Shims mat, WR Memory Keeper pattern paper, Coordination cardstock, Sizzix
I hope you enjoyed these fresh ideas to repurpose your chipboard! I'd love to see what you create with this technique so be sure to link us up or send it to us to ideas@scrapbookandcards.com!
