Hello! I am here today with a tutorial on confetti...without the sewing! I know a lot of people who don’t have a sewing machine or who aren’t particularly comfortable sewing, and then there are the moments when I am just too lazy to pull out my machine. So I thought I would share a way of getting that fun confetti look without the stitching to hold it in place.
Start with a glassine envelope.
Carefully trim the sides away using a paper trimmer and open up the envelope.
Spray the inside of the envelope with vellum adhesive, as it will dry clear. (Follow the directions provided on the container of the adhesive –I sprayed mine outside).
Sprinkle the confetti over the open envelope.
Fold the envelope closed again (be sure you are happy with coverage of the confetti as you won’t be able to open it up again –trust me, I’ve tried!) Gently press the two sides together. As you can see the confetti won’t travel in the envelope when it is held upright.
Add your confetti-filled envelope to your project!
This technique also works well with pieces of vellum that you might want to add to a page, with some confetti tucked behind it. Easy, right?

Good morning, fellow crafters! It’s Tuesday morning and I am back with a quick technique to add clouds to your favourite patterned paper. As many of you know, I have been working with Core’dinations Color Core Cardstock for years and I have the sanding blocks to prove it. One day I was playing around with some light blue Jillibean Soup patterned paper and some Maya Road chipboard and came up with this easy way to add white clouds to my cards and layouts.
Supplies:
• Core’dinations Sand-It Gadget tool (refillable)
• Core’dinations Dust Buddy
• Maya Road (or other) chipboard clouds
• Cutting mat
Step One:
Press the base of your project (background of layout or card) onto a cutting mat. This prevents the paper from slipping during the sanding process. Position the chipboard clouds where you would like. I used Maya Road chipboard “Mini Trees” for the clouds.
Step Two:
Tuck the chipboard clouds under the base paper and press firmly onto the cutting mat. Use the grid of the mat to help ensure that you are placing them exactly where you want them. Firmly press the base paper down on top of the chipboard to reattach it to the cutting mat. Again, you want to make sure that the paper does not slip during the sanding process.
Step Three:
Begin by lightly sanding over the chipboard area. Due to the fact that most patterned paper is white in the middle, the core of the paper will be revealed. Don’t press too firmly or you may tear a hole in the paper.
Step Four:
Using a Dust Buddy, wipe away any debris from the sanding process. This cleans up your work and allows you to see where you need to continue sanding. A Dust Buddy is also a great way to clean up a glitter mess before it ends up on the floor, the dog, the kids, your face....you know what I mean. ;0)
Step Five:
Assemble card or layout and enjoy! This is the Father’s Day card I will be giving to my dad.
Supplies: Jillibean Soup patterned paper, cardstock stickers, twine and kraft paper, Core’dinations Sand-It Gadget tool and Dust Buddy, Maya Road chipboard (mini-trees), Cricut cutting mat and cartridge (Hoot ‘n’ Holler), Fiskars border punch, We R’ Memory Keepers Crop-a-Dile, EK Success marker, Xyron Mega Runner adhesive, other: foam layering tape.

Good morning! Happy Memorial Day for our US friends and for all of us that are back to work...Happy Monday! Let it be the start of a great week! Today we have designer Sarah Webb joining us with a challenge ~ are you up for it?
"Sometimes, no matter how hard you look, the ‘right’ paper just doesn’t exist (or it’s going to take a couple of weeks to find it’s way to you). For this week’s Designer Challenge I wanted to challenge you to create your own background paper using embossing powder.
Find a stamp or two you love and put them to work. I choose a background stamp by Kaisercraft (grid) and a stamp by Studio Calico (star). I started with the grid stamp and heat embossed clear powder. I then added the stars and topped them with metallic embossing powder. Here’s the page once the embossing is done:
Yes, the page curled a little. Don’t worry, the page flattened down once I added the rest of my elements. Here’s the resulting page once I created over the background design:
