Summer vacation is here and I have been focussing on getting my craft room organized. My first task was to tackle the piles of magazines which have been gradually taking over. Today’s tip is all about how to store your crafting magazines (Scrapbook & Cards Today, of course!) in an organized yet attractive way.
Step One:
Locate your good ol’ Crop-a-Dile by We R’ Memory Keepers. If you don’t own one, contact your BSF (Best Scrapbooking Friend) as they will likely have one that you could borrow. Also, you will need to purchase some binders. With “Back to School” just around the corner the selection is pretty good right now. I looked for binders which had an outer spine sleeve. Using a pen and an open binder as a guide, mark three holes approximately ½” in from the edge of each issue.
Step Two:
Using your Crop-a-Dile (as a regular hole punch just doesn’t have enough gusto), set the larger hole punch grid to 1/2”. It’s a sliding guide which you then tighten into place. Punch the holes and marvel at the strength of the Crop-a-Dile. This tool will also cut through tin!
Step Three:
Take the measurements of the spine sleeves and create tags which indicate the magazine’s title and issue. I like to sort mine by the seasons since that is how Scrapbook & Cards Today is published. That way, when I am looking for a Christmas card idea or Easter project, everything is easy to locate.
Supplies: Core’dinations cardstock, Jillibean Soup patterned paper, Scenic Route grid paper, We R’ Memory Keepers Corner Chomper and Crop-a-Dile and Xyron adhesives, other: various fonts.
We would love to hear how you organize your magazines, so be sure to let us know in the comments below!

Thank you so much for the idea. My magazines are all over to. A pile here and a pile there. I am certainly going to organize.

You can buy plastic things that magazine slip through and then go into a 3 ring binder. Very cheap, $1.97 for 10 at Wal-mart. No need to destroy you magazines by punching holes in them, especially if you don't have access to a Crock a Dile. Then you can exchange them out, after you read and don't need anymore.
Love the looks of your notebooks! TFS
