Hello! I hope our Canadian friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday spending it with loved ones enjoying turkey and pumpkin pie! As the leaves are falling and the nights are getting cooler the festivities of Halloween will soon be upon us. I love making Halloween projects using vibrant colour combinations of purples, oranges, and greens. I also can’t resist all those scary monsters, spooky ghosts, and creepy mummies- so adorable!
I like to share with you a fun Halloween candy house. I was at my local packaging store and came across this 3 bottle wine gift box. When I saw the arched windows across the middle I immediately thought about making a Halloween house with hinged doors decorated with ghoulish creatures ‘daring’ you to reach in for a candy treat. I chose a black box because of my Halloween theme but these boxes come in various colours. A different colour choice like the gold you could do something fabulous for Christmas, hmm… is your mind spinning with holiday ideas yet?
The hinged doors are the perfect size for little hands to open to get their treats. The gift box is designed to have the top close down but I decided to leave mine open as I wanted to make a hinged roof using various sized banners that you can lift up to refill your treat box and for ‘big kids’ to reach into to satisfy their sweet tooth craving (insert…that would be me! because I love my candy fix especially when I am scrapping).
Supplies: K&Co. diecut, Michaels Recollections pattern paper, Wine box-Creative Bag
And not to forget October birthdays I had fun using the same Halloween papers to make some birthday cards, if you wish to see them just hop on over to my blog at
