I love using my scrapbooking supplies to create handmade gifts for family and friends during the holidays. Sometimes that means cards or paper crafts, but this year I found a fun way to use my stamps to create unique candles as gifts for our neighbors and friends. Stamp on a candle, you ask? Yep. Let me show you how.
Supplies: acrylic stamps and washi tape (We R Memory Keepers), ink pads (StazOn by Tsukineko), heat embossing tool (Marvy Uchida), tissue paper, wax paper, candles
Here’s what you need to create these festive candles:
• White candles
• Acrylic or rubber stamps
• Ink pads
• White tissue paper
• Wax paper
• Scissors
• Heat embossing gun
• Start by stamping sentiments or images onto the white tissue paper. You can use solid images in various holiday colors, or you can use outline stamps with black ink and color them in with your choice of color medium. You may want to have an extra candle to experiment with so you can make sure you color medium doesn’t run. I used StazOn ink but I’m sure other types of ink and markers would work just fine.
• Cut out your stamped images as close as you can so there is little excess tissue paper around the image.
• Place your stamped image where you want on your candle. Wrap the wax paper around the candle and hold it tightly at the back so that it keeps your stamped image in place. Turn on your embossing gun and allow it to heat up for 30 seconds. Wave the heat gun over the stamped image for a few seconds until you can see the wax melt and the image becomes embedded in the candle. Gently peel the wax paper off before the wax cools and hardens. Repeat this step for each image you want to embed in the candle, using a new spot on the wax paper for each image.
• Remember to extend your design around the entire candle even if your sentiment is in front. I added some washi tape to the bottom of one of my candles. I used my heat gun to embed the tape into the candle. The tape’s white background blended well into the white candle.
Give this a try, and have fun playing with your stamps to create unique gifts for your friends and family. Happy holidays!

Have tried this before, they are beautiful. Have you tried printing a photo onto tissue paper and putting onto the candle, I did one for a wedding present - the result is spectacular.
