A "sticky" giveaway!!!

Happy Friday SCT readers!  No matter what project you work on, the truth is we all need a little adhesive to get the job done! Today we thought we would share two of MY favourite ones with you!  And by share, we are not just going to show you, we are going to send a set to one lucky winner!

A closer look at Kimber's beautiful spring frame...and a free download!

Good morning SCT friends!  We asked design team member Kimber McGray for a few more images of her beautiful frame that was "pinned" so many times yesterday!  We loved it in the spring issue (download here) and knew you would love it as well.  Kimber has even provided a link to the Silhouette file so that you can make one too!  

"Today I am back with a few close up images that I took while working on this project. I apologize for the quality, they were taken with my phone as I created. Each of these show how I layered the different circles with stickers, stick pens, corrugated shapes and stickers. I always seem to have a dish of little leftover baubles from projects sitting on my desk. This is a great way to use up some of the onesies that you have hanging around! Layered and grouped little pieces and parts turn into a great finished piece. 

 

Do you have a Silhouette digital cutter? Have you tried creating your own files? Trust me when I tell you, if I can do it... so can you! Want to try this project yourself?  Here is a file that can be used with your Silhouette to create the cut out circle platform.

Pinterest inspiration with Kimber McGray!

I love Pinterest for finding starting points for projects. I was getting ready to create projects for the January trade show (CHA) and I found THIS great project.  I knew that the line I was going to work with would be the new Chilled Cucumber Soup from Jillibean Soup and this type of project was a perfect fit for this line. It looks like she used foam core to create her project. I decided to create a file on my Silhouette for a similar look. Once I cut the holes in white cardstock on my Silhouette, I got to work making little groupings of product for each of the holes. I mixed die-cuts, stickers, stick pins, and corrugated pieces. Plus a lot of foam adhesive squares. 

Once the project was complete I took the glass out of the teal frame and added my 'art'. I simply love it! This was already my favorite new release from Jillibean but this little project is all of my favorite things in one place.

Colour Suite April with Summer Fullerton and Emily Pitts!

Welcome to the April Colour Suite. I was in the mood for some bright and bold colours when I put together this month’s Colour Suite.  Kelly green and neon yellow is where this month’s colour suite began. I then balanced out these brights with a wonderful navy, neutral grey and a pop of unexpected pink. The end result is simply makes me smile.

If you have followed the Colour Suite for any length of time I often call it a road map to creativity because you never know where it might take you. When I started my journey this month I envisioned pink and navy with lots of feminine touches.

 

 

Honors Ball by Summer Fullerton

Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Patterned Papers Bella Blvd/American Crafts/My Minds Eye/Heidi Swapp, Webster’s Pages Washi tape, My Minds Eye Enamel Dots/Brads, Stamps Technique Tuesday, Ink VersaFine Black, Wood Embellishment Studio Calico, Star Brads Making Memories, Queen & Co yellow embellishments, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, My Minds Eye Label Sticker, Stick Pins, Dymo Label Maker, Silhouette Cutting System and various fonts downloaded from the internet

The layout I created took a whole different route. Rather than embracing the feminine side of this suite I was totally inspired by the bright Kelly green and decided to scrapbook some older baseball photos. I don’t think it hurt that I happened to have a couple brand new pieces of patterned paper the perfect shade of green. I only used little bits of pink and navy on my layout but the look and feel of this month’s Color Suite is still there.

This month I also invited friend and fellow Scrapbook & Cards Today designer Emily Pitts to play along with us. Emily confessed to me that she found color challenges challenging, but it invigorating to try something outside her comfort zone. Emily told me, “This palette was so fresh and springy, plus I got to make a doily from a vintage book page because the yellow was just the right yellow! I love it when things like that happen!”

I love how Emily approached our colours this month as her colour choices were almost opposite of mine.  This goes to show you how using different amounts of each Colour doesn’t change the Suite but makes it unique.

ScrapFest Friday...and a give away!
