Good morning SCT friends! The team is back from Crop & Create Burnaby and what an AMAZING weekend it was. We are so inspired by our attendees and will never forget all the fun we had at the beautiful Hilton Burnaby. It was a weekend to remember! In the past 3 months we have met SCT friends from coast to coast at Crop & Create Markham, Moncton, Winnipeg, Burnaby and also at ScrapFest and CreativFestival. To all that joined us at these events THANK YOU! We are now working on Crop & Create Cornwall, Thunder Bay and Saskatoon, ScrapFest and CreativFestival in the fall. We cannot wait! To stay up to date on all that we are up to, be sure to sign up for our SCT newsletter here.
We also had a wonderful National Scrapbook Day with over 25K people joining us on the blog this past weekend. WOW!!!! Incredible. If you were not able to join us, be sure to check out all the fun prizes, inspiration and special announcements. An exciting day and we were so thrilled to see so many of you joining us each hour.
Today we have Aly Dosdall joining us with another amazing project just in time for Mother's Day...
"With Mother’s Day coming soon I thought it would be fun to share a gift idea for the moms or grandmas in your life. These brag books are easy to make and can fit into a purse or planner so the recipient can share them anytime.
Supplies: cardstock, patterned paper, stickers, embossed tag, baker’s twine, brads, book plates, Lucky 8 punch, Crop-A-Dile tool (We R Memory Keepers), edge punch and circle punch (EK Success), adhesive (Xyron)
The base of these little books has a tri-fold cover, and a tri-fold inner panel. Let’s take a closer look at the inside:
There are 6 blank pages for photos, journaling, or memorabilia, and the tie closure keeps your recipient’s bragging material safe. For my books I included a photo of each of my five kids, plus a page with a journaling spot where my kids each wrote some things they love about Grandma.
Here’s how you can make these cute Mother’s Day gifts for the mom or grandma in your life:
1) Trim two 5 ½ x12 inch pieces of cardstock. Score them both at 4 and 8 inches. Punch a design into the far left panel of the piece that will be your cover, if desired. Score your cover piece again at 3 7/8 and 8 1/8 inches. Fold all score lines for your cover toward the inside of the book.
2) Fold the piece for the inside pages accordion style and adhere the far left panel to the center of the cover. Add photos, patterned paper, embellishments, and journaling as desired.
3) To create the tie closure, measure a length of baker’s twine that will fit around your book with plenty of extra for a bow. Place your eyelet in the hole and tie the end of the baker’s twine around the prongs before setting it. When you set it, the twine will be attached.
We gave these to grandmas last year and they loved them. In fact, our family went to stay with my parents last month and my mom’s brag book is still on display in their living room. I hope you’ve enjoyed this project and a very Happy Mother’s Day to all you mommies and grandmas!

Aly, these are just perfect! Would you mind telling me exactly which punch you use for the far left panel? I don't have any punches which would reach into the card that far.
Thanks for sharing your masterpieces :-)

Thank you everyone for your kind words! glad you like these little gifts.
To Barb in AK: I used my Lucky 8 floral burst punch. I turned off the outer cut, and only used the inner cut on one corner. hope that helps. =)
