Getting organized. It always seems like some area in my house (and I hope I’m not alone here) needs work. But my scrap space is the one area that seems to get the most attention. Over the years I’ve tried several different methods to get (and stay) organized. My problem was that while it would look great, it wouldn’t be functional and I’d forget about certain materials. While I haven’t found the perfect formula yet…I’m getting closer to finding what works best for me. Here is little bit about what I've found works best in my space and I hope you’ll tell us what works in yours!
Bins. The shoebox sized bins are my best friend. I break everything down from buttons, to twine, to brads and everything has a (perfectly labeled) home.
Crates. I have a couple of these crates that I use for paper. I organize my papers by manufacturer and package them in large ziploc bags. When I'm working on a project I grab a bag or two and I'm ready to go. I store this crate right under my desk.
Baskets. If you didn't know before you'll certainly see now that I have a slight obsession with letter stickers. Specifically American Crafts letter stickers. I have them standing in a basket grouped by color that I simply pull out as needed.
Open bins. This bin I hunted down specifically for this purpose. I was accumulating these small pads but they were getting buried in a large basket. This container allows me to stand up the pads and thumb through them when needed.
Metal bins. I found these bins in the dollar section at Target two years ago. They now house almost all of my punches and stand up perfectly to abuse from these heavy little objects!
Jars. I have a love hate relationship with ribbon. I don't use it nearly as often as I should and have no business collecting it - but I love looking at it! These jars are my storage solution since they hold a ton of ribbon and I can still see it.
I'm always looking out for more storage ideas so I have to ask, what works best for you? I hope you'll share! ~ Marla Kress

That bag is gorgeous! I could replace the one I got 10+ years ago when they only made navy blue :) Thanks for sharing your tips too.
