True confession: I LOVE SKETCHES!

Okay, I suppose it's not a real confession if I make it all obvious like I do, but there it is. Sketches are BY FAR my most favorite tool in my scrapbooking arsenal. They are a fantastic starting point (and even ending point) for your pages. I have always said "why re-invent the wheel" when you don't have to?" If I am stuck, have no idea where I want my layout to go or simply don't want to have to over-think a project, I check my sketch folder. I have one on my computer, Pinterest as well as a paper one and I check it regularly. And...I have to say, our own Becky Fleck does the most. amazing sketches ever. LOVE them. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. She is the first person I go to for sketches though there are many other great sites out there. I have been so excited to see Becky's regular PageMaps column in SCT because she always features amazing bonus sketches in there that you don't get elsewhere. And that is where I found a sketch to do the following layout.

Supplies:Fancy Pants Patterned Paper, Stickers, alpha stickers; Fiskars star punches; Colorbox/Clearsnap ink; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L adhesive; Pentel pen; PageMaps for Spellbinders die.

I have never been size-particular when it comes to my layouts. I adore 12x12, 8.5x11 vertical and horizontal and everything in between. And I was immediately struck by this particular 8.5x11 vertical sketch. I loved the "office" feel to it with the tab and that it was a single photo. I have tons of single photos that don't really have other photos to go with them yet I still want to get them scrapped. I love that the smaller format allows me to do that but keeps me from feeling like I need to add more like I do with 12x12s. :)

I love sketches too, they are so great to get inspiration.

Sketches are such a great way to get me going! And to have Kelly's interpretation to refer to is excellent as well! I always love Kelly's clean, colourful, and unique layouts. This line of Fancy Pants is so cute - the bold patterns and unique colour combos are fantastic!
