It's a beautiful Sunday morning and we could not be more delighted then to have design team member Sheri Reguly joining us to share her favourite design tip and just a little something about her! Always known for her sweet feminine touches, great use of colour and fun journaling, Sheri's artwork is a highlight for many in each issue.
"My favorite design tip of the moment, is printing my journaling onto vellum! I’m generally not one to plan out my designs beforehand, and because journaling is normally the final step in my design process, I can’t easily go back and print my journaling onto my background paper as I sometimes wish I could. Printing my journaling onto vellum, and then adhering it to my page, is the next best thing. It’s the perfect solution for those times when I want to incorporate my journaling in a more subtle way.
A little something about me...
I tend to be just a bit obsessive about the little details and finishing touches. I spend way too much time, not to mention generally create a HUGE mess, searching for the perfect embellishments to complete my layouts, I change my jewellery, handbags and shoes as I change my outfits, and I’m very specific about carefully choosing the perfect decorative accents to “pretty up” my home. And yes, those decorative accents and throw cushions have to be lined up just so. I swear that when my husband’s bored, he’ll slightly move a frame or vase, sit back, and simply wait to see how long it takes me to notice and fix it.
Don’t confuse this with being a neat freak tough. I’d love to have a spotless home, but with a busy family and crazy schedules, it’s simply not realistic...and I’ve learned to accept that." ~ Sheri
Have a wonderful Sunday friends!
ha ha Sherri! I too am a neat freak. My husband calls me the clean Nazi. And I too make a huge mess in my craft room when I am scrapping, but I always manage to clear it up before I start supper and end the day. I love the printing on journaling technique..so pinning this!

IF my hubby would read this post, he'd think he was married to you, TOO!!! (ha, ha) us crafters are all the same & there's NO group therapy where I live! TFS....have a great Sunday!

Lovely layout. Love the kraft paper as a background against the pretty paper and colors you chose.
Neat freak? In my creations. In my dreams. Not in reality. LOL.

I love to use vellum for personal journaling and especially for adding Poems to a page!

What a beautiful little girl and the clarity of the photo is so vibrant! I really like the days of the week, different but similar in theme. Awesome page and I enjoyed and laughed (with you!) at your OCD tendencies ;) I've got 'em too!

Fab layout. I think people in my house move things too - just to see how long it takes before I notice and get mad!

Sherri, your work always inspires me! And I'm the same way about the little touches. That takes me the lion's share of time on a project. But your little details always shine through! Your page looks great (your daughter is so photogenic!).

Great layout! I think we all get a little OCD about our projects. :D

Fun layout and fabulous tip to use vellum to do the journaling on and letting the backgrounds show through. Love it.
