Good morning! We are so glad you joined us today as we continue to highlight our fantastic design team! Are you loving the inspiration? You're going to love today too. Emily Pitts is a designer that always thrills us. With great care and attention to details, Emily's work always stands out as something special. There is usually a little twist mixed with some charm that makes her work so unique. And her great sense of humour always shines through! Here's Emily...
"Please excuse the cheesy metaphors, but they work.
I call this design tip, "Getting in Shape." You start with a large circular element (I have some circular elements about me...). Small is good, but I like a 3 or 4 inch circle. You'll need a rectangle or two (resistance weight), they will keep you solidly anchored. Add a tag (no metaphor here), some text (no, not explicatives, self-motivational encouragement), and some texture (beads of sweat), and you've got what's soon to shape up into a favorite layout.
So that's my favorite design tip of the moment for you, get in shape!
This layout has all the elements, a circular viewfinder card, a few blocks of rectangular elements, lots of text, some texture with stitching, twine, embossing, and vellum, all I needed to do was add the great photos and the results left me smiling.
And something you may not know about me: I can sew very well. I made my wedding dress, all by myself. I just like sewing paper better now." ~ Emily Pitts
You can see more of Emily's beautiful work on her blog here or at Maya Road, Cocoa Daisy or Jillibean Soup! Speaking of Maya Road, they are giving away some of their beautiful vintage clips we featured in our Top 10 Most Wanted in the summer issue and a one year subscription here! Go enter!!!
Awesome layout! It does have everything you need for a great layout. I love all of the layers of elements that you added. Thank you for the inspiration. Take care. :)

I like this layout because everything ties together....from the glasses (frames) the young man is wearing to all the fun words and the film strip. Great artistic thinking!
