Welcome to the October Colour Suite. I love fall, the colours of the leaves changing from green to yellow to red is simply my favorite. These were the colours I thought of when I created this month’s Colour Suite. I started by picking an orange/red, a yellow/orange and a green that reminded my of changing leaves. Then I paired my inspiration colours with 2 neutrals navy and grey.
While my first thought was fall the primary colours of this suite also lend themselves to scrapbooking those back to school photos from last month. This was the direction I decided to take my layout. I have a secret love of scrapbooking back to school so I decided to work with the neutrals of navy and grey. Then I gravitated towards the yellow/orange it’s really almost the same colour as a no.#2 pencil. I then used little pops of green and orange/red sparingly.

Colour Suite confession time; I really wanted to create a challenge this month that was different therefore my goal was to embrace fall. What I learned was most of my product didn’t really fit the suite. Apparently I have very little navy blue and almost no green patterned papers in my stash. If you find that this Colour Suite or any of my past colour suites have you stumped try creating elements for your layouts using cardstock. I specifically focused on stamped and die cut items to embellishm this layout. Stamping is a wonderful way to customize embellishments to coordinate with any project. I tend to often favor black ink and coloured cardstock. I like the crisp feeling the black offers and I don’t have a great collection of coloured inks.
Thank you for joining me this month and I would love to what you create using tihs palette of colour. Be sure to check out past Colour Suite's right here too!
Happy Crafting!
I love your ideas such as the short top paper strip with the button and the way you did the year with the apple, details etc.
Great!

I have to admit these are not favorite colors of mine; never liked orange or green! I tend to do Fall in reds, browns, yellows, golds, and bronze. I think they make for more sophisticated palettes.... I add darker greens in sometimes - I do live in the Emerald City, after all (smile)! I love the layers you used, though!

Beautiful layout. I love The Color Suite. When first look at the color blocks, I try to imagine how to use the colors in relatively big amounts but I am always amazed at how such little bits of 1 or 2 colors can have such an impact on the overall look of the layout. Thanks for all you share with your readers.
