I love collecting old sheet music and using them on collage projects or cards. Today I am going to share another way to achieve that aged look without having to make a trip to the flea market or antique store!
Products: Cardstock-My Favorite Things; Patterned paper, stamp, tag, chipboard sticker-Pink Paislee; Distress Inks- Tim Holtz/Ranger; Black Ink and sponge applicator- Imagine Crafts; Flowers-Petaloo
To begin, you will need a sheet music style stamp, cardstock, black and other various colored ink pads along with a sponge applicator.
For this particular card, the kraft cardstock was cut to 4” X 4” and then stamped with the “Jingle Bells” stamp three times in black ink.
Now onto the aging-process: I’ve selected four different Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Vintage Photo, Fired Brick, Mustard Seed and Broken China. Starting with the Vintage Photo ink, pick up some of the ink with a sponge applicator or dauber. Swirl the applicator from the outer edge of the cardstock inward; repeat until all edges have been aged.
Repeat the process with the remaining three inks:
Next, emboss the cardstock with a snowflake pattern and then distress the raised areas with the Vintage Photo ink.
Finally, most all old sheet music have dog-eared edges or tiny tears, so it’s time to give our piece of music the same treatment. Do so by gently crimping the edges with your fingers and/or a distressing tool.
Complete the card by attaching the finished sheet music to a 5” X 5” mat and then onto a 6” X 6” card.

Thank you this lovely tutorial. The end result is so beautiful and I would not have known you got this from a stamp. Love the way you distressed the music then embossed it!
This really has helped me with distressing my pieces...
