Hello, Sheri Reguly here! I’m back today to share a little tutorial to show you exactly how I embellished the leaf accents that I incorporated into my layout that I shared with you on Monday. I also have a new card to share with you today as well.
If you’ll recall, I started off with three simple leaves that were punched from various patterned papers.
There are several different products that I could have used to give my leaves an autumn glow, but I opted to use Heidi Swapp’s Color Shine in Gold. Any spray mist in gold would give similar results, as would a gold toned ink pad, or even a gold craft paint.
I started off by giving each leaf a spritz of color.
Next, I blotted the leaves gently with a tissue. The amount of blotting, combined with the amount of time you allow the mist to actually sit prior to blotting, will directly affect your results. A soft spray of color immediately followed by wiping away the excess will result in a subtle golden sparkle, whereas a more generous misting, and allowing the mist to sit for a few moment prior to blotting will result in a bolder, marbled effect.
After the leaves were dry, I added a simple stitching detail lengthwise down the center.
For a little bit more dimension, I gently rolled up the edges of the leaves, and adhered them to my page using adhesive foam.
After creating my tutorial, I had a few extra leaf accents on hand to play around with. I couldn’t resist incorporating one into a simple hello greeting that I thought I’d share with you today as well.
