Welcome to the February Colour Suite. Have you every wondered where my inspiration comes from each month? Sometimes I begin with a specific mood, theme, colour or inspiration piece. This month I found a great inspiration piece in which to base my colour suite from. My inspiration piece is the perfect blend of pinks, reds, oranges and yellows all into one beautiful package. I then added a neutral grey to round out our February Colour Suite.
This month I invited my friend and fellow designer Patricia Roebuck to join me and take the Colour Suite Challenge. Patricia told me she loved how playful the colours were and she immediately knew they would work well with photos of the neon fish her daughter received for Christmas. Patricia added colour to her layout in so many ways. I tend to be very literal with how I add colour to my projects so I love how Patricia used water colours, ink splatters and even her photos to embrace the colour suite.
Whenever I begin a Colour Suite layout I shop my stash and pull out any cardstock and patterned paper I think I might want to use. Then my layout morphs and transitions as I create. When I started this layout I was really drawn to the Webster’s Pages bokeh patterned paper because it really reminded me of my inspiration piece, so I built my layout using this paper. Patricia’s water colour paint splattered background is very similar to the Webster’s Pages bokeh patterned paper. While my layout is visually much heavier than Patricia’s I think it’s great how we were both drawn to similar concepts. (PS I didn’t share my inspiration piece with Patricia.)
Family no matter what designed by Summer Fullerton
Supplies Used: Bazzill Cardstock, Patterned Paper Webster’s Pages/KI Memories/Elle’s Studio/Jillibean Soup, Sequins American Crafts, Enamel Dots My Minds Eye, Wood Veneer Elle’s Studio & Lily Bee, Felt, Heart Die Sizzix, Silhouette Cutting System & Image, fonts OldSansBlack/Veteran Typewriter, and adhesives Foam Squares Scrapbook Adhesives & Xyron
While these colours can definitely be used to scrapbook your next Valentine layout they are also very versatile. Neither Patricia nor myself took the obvious route. This just goes to show you while I might chose colours that are season specific you can always take a fresh approach and use the colours as they inspire you!
Thank you very much for joining me today and happy crafting.

What a fantastic job of the scrapbook pages ladies. I especially loved the variety of colour used (in terms of application) on the neon fish page.
