Good morning and welcome to Stampin' Up! Saturday on the SCT blog! With summer, vacation time, and family holidays just around the corner our friends at Stampin’ Up! have brought us a super fun line up of projects featuring the I Am Me Suite to help you do some planning ahead - or maybe some catching up if you have photos from your last vacation to scrap!
Joining us today are the creative talents of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Cathy Caines and Julie Oliver. Both of these ladies have some amazing projects to share, so let’s get started!
Here’s what Cathy had to say about her projects:
“The first item I created I was this fun plane notecard. Its so nice to leave a notecard for a loved one that is staying behind while you’re on vacation. And it’s definitely even better when they are bright and summery like this one!”
“Every card needs some treats!! The Mini Muslin Bags make life so easy to make pretty packages. Don’t overthink anything – simple is beautiful.”
“I also created a suitcase that could be used for a memory keeping box or plane treats! To create this, I covered the Tag a Bag Gift Box with the I Am Me Designer Series Paper (on sale until Monday night FYI). I also found a box at a local discount store with a handle. I tore the handle off and hot glued it to my wrapped box. I used mini silver brads to give it a finished look. Voila!”
“If you are going on a jet plane, you need tags. I simply stamped the Canvas Creations with the Around the World stamp set and covered it with Crystal Effects. I then sewed a piece of window sheet on top and machine sewed around the edges.”
“With every trip, you want to keep the memories alive. As a scrapbooker, I used several layers of the I Am Me paper and added the most important element – journaling. Tell your story.”
Thank you so much Cathy! Your projects are fabulous and so on trend! Our next round of travel projects is from designer Julie Oliver. Take a look!
Here’s what Julie had to say about her projects:
“The “I Am Me” Suite is great for any project related to travelling! I wanted to create a personalized luggage tag that you could put on your purse, hand luggage or suitcase when you travel. It's a fun way to customize your luggage and make it recognizable!”
“The colorful Designer Series paper of this suite inspired me to create a birthday card. Combined with the Epic Day This and That Washi Tape and the Subtles Designer Buttons, it is really easy to put together since all the colours coordinate with each other. I also used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to add some ink splatters.”
“For my “Smile” card, I used the 2 camera stamps that coordinate so well with the Designer Series paper. The “Smile” (from the Happy Day stamp set) was the perfect caption to go on this card!
“This gift card holder is perfect to give to anyone who is leaving for a trip or a new adventure! I thought it would be fun to make a small suitcase that holds a gift card!”
