Hello again, SCT readers :)
This month, I wanted to stress the simplicity that pocket pages can be...I hear while teaching classes that people feel obligated to fill each pocket with a 'work of art'. There are times when I feel crafty and would agree, but I am a big proponent of allowing pretty paper to stand on it's own too!
In this pocket page that I made using the July Gossamer Blue kit, I used (2) 4x6 photos and pretty much let them stand on their own. The other photo didn't need much embellishing, so I just slipped it in the pocket and added an arrow clip. There were so many paper patterns that I loved in this kit, that I figured: 'why not let them stand out'?!
All I added to the printed cards was journaling + some spray mist...the green card looks exactly as it did when I removed it from the packaging (other than the rounded corners), because I loved the pattern. The one pocket that I did spend some time on was the lower left with the pie chart card. Gossamer Blue includes FREE cut files (and printables) with both the Main Scrapbook and Life Pages kits, so all I needed to do was load the pie chart file into my Silhouette and I was off and running. It took about 10 minutes to add the bits of patterned paper behind the cut pie chart, but I love how it turned out in the end.
So remember: don't stress out over filling every pocket with a masterpiece. It's 100% ok to just let the 'pretty paper' shine on it's own. :) ~ Nicole Harper

I love doing Life pages and I agree, pattern paper or a pl type card work well on their own. More often than not it's a nice resting place for the eye.
I didn't know GB had Life Page kits. I'll have to check them out!
Thanks!

This is exactly why I bought pocket pages. I like to card craft, not really scrapbook and pocket pages allow me to do something quick. I love your examples here! Thank you!

I love the idea of pocket pages. When I've traveled in the past, I'd end up with 2 or 3 books per trip. With a big trip coming up, and using pocket pages, maybe I can stay to 1 or 2 books!! This is a prize I'd LOVE to win. Thanks for the ideas and making this package available as a prize.

Fabulous and fun pages. So many details and yet straightforward.

I totally agree with Nicole! Just take your lovely pictures, and a few pocket cards or make some yourself from your paper stash, and don't get stressed or go overboard with all your embellishments. This is suppose to be fun, carefree, and not so staged!! Also, use your pictures and spread them out in the pocket pages. When you show off your photo albums everyone comments on the pictures and then they notice your embellishments. So stop stressing and "Get er done"!!!

I'm not sure I own any Gossamer Blue kits, so winning one would sure put me to work making beautiful pages such as the one you have done, above. Your work is awesome. Thank you for the opportunity of entering this contest.
