Happy Wednesday everyone! Did you enter the giveaway for the Doodlebug sequins in this post yet? Hurry, you have one more day, and you are going to want these sequins, let me tell you!
I wish I could enter because I love how one color has so many variations of the same color in the bottle. I got to work with the yellow ones and loved that there was gold, light yellow, and dark in the same bottle. I loved the variety so much that I had wanted to showcase it on a layout about my son and his love of fountain pens.
But how to get the same feeling that I saw in the bottle, that was the trick.
I decided to make a loose pocket flap on my layout and fill it with the sequins, that way they would be able to float around and add sparkle instead of being all glued or stitched down.
To do this, I took the protective plastic sleeve that comes covering most embellishments, you know, the thing you slide off and throw away? It makes a great pocket! I simply reinforced the sides with machine stitching, poured the sequins in, then sewed the pocked shut and added to my design. I didn't fill it too full so that the sequins would have room to move and sparkle. It's the perfect way to show just how beautiful these products are, don't you agree?
So go enter the giveaway, then you can make your own pocket flaps on your next layout, card, or pocketscrapping spread!
Leave a comment on this post by end of day Thursday, July 234th to win these fabulous sequins from Doodlebug Design!

I love that sequins made the full circle and are back "in style". Thank goodness I didn't toss my old sequin hoard, lol.

I have looked longingly at the sequins in videos and blog posts so I'm very excited to try them out! Thank you for your generous giveaway! I'm keeping everything that crosses, crossed (so please excuse any spelling mistakes because that includes crossing my eyes! ;)
Blessings,
Melitta
