Scrapbook & Cards Today Blog: Monday with Megan: I'm So Fancy!

Feeling fancy, are we? Well, not so much, actually. There’s nothing about washing dishes and sweeping floors that leaves me thinking, ‘wow, I feel SO fancy right now!’ So you can imagine my delight when I received this beauty in the mail.

Yes, My Mind’s Eye was having a party of fancy proportions, and I was invited! A mistake, you ask? Perhaps, but I went with it and hoped I wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb. And what a treat it was! Speaking of treats, take a look at this spread. Talk about a, ahem, fancy feast!

I’m getting ahead of myself. Food has a way of doing that to me. Let’s rewind to my reason for being at the party. It was a special event for bloggers to unveil their new releases. How fun! How... fancy!

Then we stepped inside and knew we had arrived. This was definitely not another night of sweeping floors and washing clothes. Nope, this was disco balls, a DJ, dancing, several photo ops, oh, and my personal favorite, cotton candy!

The evening progressed to include a lovely and heartfelt toast by the beautiful Marcia Cornell, owner of My Mind’s Eye. She expressed her gratitude to all of us who have loved and supported MME over the years. I’m so happy I have this opportunity to pass her nice words along to you. (Thanks, SCT!) I feel that was my main reason for being there—to share their message of gratitude with friends beyond Utah. (But the cotton candy was nice, too!) ;)

Then, the beautiful cakes—yes, that’s cakeS, plural—were cut, the sparkling cider was passed, and the cheers were made.

From there, Wendy and I took the express lane straight to the new product displays, and let me tell you, their displays were spectacular. This is actually another reason I decided to devote today’s Monday with Megan post to my experience at this event. I knew you’d love seeing these amazing displays as much as I did. So much eye candy to take in and be inspired by. Check it out!

Next, it was giveaway time, where Wendy won this lovely chalk art set from Hazel & Ruby. You know what’s funny? It was the one thing in the display area that she actually picked up and posed with for a photo earlier in the evening, and then she proceeded to win it. Crazy, right? I thought so!

Make-and-take time! If you’re like me, you can appreciate any make-and-take. I mean, it’s making, it’s taking, it’s grand. But this one was a make-and-take fancified. It included an entire table of delicious products, which we were invited to pair with bitty frames as we dressed up our own fanciful designs.

And, of course, there’s the shining SWAG (stuff we all get) bags. After all, what’s a party without its favors?
