Hello SCT friends! So happy to be here celebrating World Cardmaking Day with you! A quick and easy way to add texture to a card is with stitching! And don't worry, you don't need a fancy sewing machine (or even expert sewing skills). I created this grid on my card with embroidery floss following a sketch from CardMaps 4.
Supplies: patterned paper (Crate Paper, Bo Bunny); die cuts, sticker (Crate Paper); jewels (Bo Bunny); embroidery thread (DMC)
First, I used a ruler and pencil to lightly draw the lines where I wanted the stitching to be. No measuring is necessary - just eyeball it! Then I used a needle to punch a hole at the end of each line.
Thread some floss onto your needle and use the holes as a guide to stitch from one end to the other. Secure the thread on the card interior with scotch tape.
Layer some die cuts and stickers and a few sparkler on the card and it's complete!
Have a wonderful rest of your day! Designer Sheri Reguly is up next with another great tutorial too!
