Hey everyone! It’s Laura Vegas here, sharing the card I created for World Cardmaking Day. I picked out this sketch from CardMaps 4 to work with, as it has a clean and familiar design that mimics a lot of the cards that I create!
And here is my card,"hey friend"...
Supplies: Cardstock: American Crafts; Patterned paper: Bella Blvd; Journaling tag: Bella Blvd; Letter stickers: Jillibean Soup; Crochet flower: Bella Blvd; Paper clip: Freckled Fawn; Washi tape: Bella Blvd; Embossing folder: Sizzex; Die cut machine: Cuttlebug; Ink: Stampin Up
I stayed pretty true to the sketch when creating my card. I immediately thought of the journaling cards found in Bella Blvd’s Paper Pieces die cut packages for the paper element in the center of the sketch. That journaling card helped narrow down my choices for colors and patterned papers, as I just pulled from the same collection.
I ran a white piece of cardstock through a dotted embossing folder to give it texture, and inked the edges with a navy blue ink pad to help it stand out against the flowered patterned paper. I embellished the card with a crochet flower and a fun arrow paperclip, as shown on the sketch!
I hope you enjoy the rest of what the SCT team has to share today!
10:00 a.m. GIVEAWAY!!!
Joining us this hour for a wonderful prize giveaway is our friends from My Favourite Things Stamps! And LOOK at this prize...
"Say hello to our new line of Hybrid Inks. These pigment based inks dry like dye inks and are permanent on paper surfaces, acid-free, archival, and fade resistant. These inks feature a raised felt pad and are slightly larger than our current ink pads. Inks can be heat set on glass, fabric, wood, plastic, metal, and clay. As these inks are fast drying and waterproof, they cannot be embossed with embossing powder.
Win 7 of our Hybrid Ink Pads to call your own and have a rainbow of possibilities at your fingertips." ~ MFT Stamps
