As this incredible day celebrating cardmaking and cardmakers around the world draws to a close, we are reminded of what an amazing community this is. All day we have had wonderful comments and readers sharing on this blog, on our Facebook page, on Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest and by email. We've already seen 18K views on this blog today! THANK YOU! It truly is a sharing community and we feel blessed that you've shared your time and creations with us all day long!
We are also reminded on this day of how amazing our team and our partners are. Without all of them we could no do what we do and inspire YOU, our dedicated readers, the way we do. Let's give a huge round of applause to our team of designers who provided all of the inspiration today and let's applaud all of our great partners who rose to today's occasion and provided some outstanding prizes...all because we asked and because they truly love how interative and appreciative our readers are. We love that we have one last surprise in store for you today :) Read on!
Our final special guest today needs little introduction. I remember back to a retailer event where we had small 6 foot tables side by side. It was the early days for her company and our magazine had launched just six weeks prior to that event. She was incredibly supportive then and continues to be almost 9 years later. I'm referring to Stacey Caron, founder of Spellbinders! When we let Spellbinders know we were celebrating today, they asked immediately if they could supply the grand prize given how much they love our readers. When we let Stacey know we were kicking off our fall campaign for our charity card drive "bring a smile to a child" (more about that in THIS post) she immediately asked to participate. She's got a big heart and we thought it would be fun to also share a little interview with Stacey!
"In my life experience, you get back what you give from your heart!"
Q: Spellbinders has a great new look and logo. Can you give us an idea of what we’ll see more of in the near future?
A: An evolution of our Brand Continued! It’s exciting times here at Spellbinders as we expand our creative vision into broader areas of the craft market while continuing to innovate exceptional products.
Q: Give us a window into the day to day life of Spellbinders! What is your favourite part of that day?
A: I’m an early riser so I start my day at about 5 am watching the sunrise with my husband Jeff and having coffee. When I first arrive it’s about reviewing my daily schedule and emails, lots of creative meetings to be sure we are on track. Die and production design for me really doesn’t stop, it’s an ongoing obsession. Usually my days & nights blur together. Some of my best ideas happen after “Official” Spellbinders hours as you might imagine. It’s a constant crazy and fun ride.
Q: Spellbinders has always been an innovative company. How do you stay on the cutting edge (pun intended!)?
A: I am always thinking about “what’s next”, for example what our customers want and need to make their crafting experience more valuable and efficient. From ease of product use to inspiration, it’s all part of the creative equation which in turn becomes a great crafting experience for our followers.
Q: Charity has always been a lovely part of Spellbinders’ values. Why is that important to you?
A: It’s very simple. In my life experience, you get back what you give from your heart! I truly believe in this philosophy and to this day it makes me smile every time I or Spellbinders help people in need.
Q: Our Crop & Create attendees have loved seeing Kim Hupke at a few events and we are thrilled she is returning to Crop & Create Moncton with us in March, 2015. Any chance you might join us?
A: I’m super excited to say YES!! I will be attending the Crop & Create Moncton event along with Kim Hupke this March. We have lots of exciting things in store for all the amazing attendees.
Thank you Stacey for sharing a little inside look and Crop & Create Moncton friends did you hear that? Stacey will also be joining Kim so get ready for a great party with these two ladies! As mentioned earlier, we were thrilled that Stacey created a card for our card campaign and a sweet card it is.
A wonderful way to end the day wouldn't you say? Well, not quite. Spellbinders would love to give a very special prize away to one lucky reader. Would you like to see it? Imagine this landing on your doorstep...
These are all the dies Stacey used to create that beautiful card and the die cut machine she used too! WOW! What a way to finish a fantastic day!
